My Elise needs a full set of tyres and it seems the OEM recommend tyres are no longer produced. Mine still has the original 5.5" front wheels which had a 175/55/16 from the factory. Just wondering what everyone is using for road use? Options seem to be either Yokohama V105 or Nankang NS-2R. But both only come in 195 width for the front. I really don't want to change the steering feel. Does the wider tyre have any negative effects? Any feedback appreciated.

Hi, I have a 2004 Lotus Elise SS2. I think i have fried its brain.. The car has been dry stored in a garage for a couple of years but had been started up and ran fine about 3 months ago. (20k on clock) Battery completely died and i tried jump starting it. Wipers started going on their own and fan lights came on. I disconnected and went away to buy a new battery. Fitted the new battery and I've got disco lights on the dashboard and it won't tick over. Sound like numerous pumps/fan start running continuously and headlight auto come on but won't turn off. Hunting horrendously and it seems as though i have fried it. With so many electrical faults, what…

The pic below is from a 2008 Exige S (c.30k miles) which I'm considering purchasing. Would the level of corrosion give cause for concern? The car has been garaged / dry use only the last 10 years, so I assume the previous years included wet usage... Appreciate it’s 15 years old, but thoughts welcomed on how normal this looks and the level of cost / involvement to resolve it. Cheers

Hi all this is my first post, so I apologise if this is in the wrong location. I have recently purchased a 2005 111r which is fantastic! How ever with that being said I’ve got an issue whilst I’m cruising along ( only noticed at motorway speeds ) with my headlights on I occasionally have the cluster turn into a Christmas tree with all lights lit for around 5 seconds and then the speed / rev gauge go all the way back to 0 then after 5 or so seconds return back to where they were prior. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. Been to look at a car. The top wishbone mount has been repaired. Not happy with this but wondering how repairable this is? Can it be put right and repaired fully and if so how difficult and how expensive? Many thanks

I’m looking for a mobile engine mechanic around Nottingham who has experience with k-series and could take a look at my VHPD engine. It’s not running as it should and I’d like to get the car in good order for summer use. Thanks for any help offered. Steve.

Me and my father have just purchased a 2001 S2! Only done 45k miles but has been sat for 10 years so it'll need a pretty comprehensive restoration I'd imagine (car should be with us next weekend to have a good look). Aim is to have it running nicely and take it on a few track days each summer. It starts and engine turns over This is the first project car we've done too Can anyone help me sort a "to-do" list in a sensible order and let me know what I've missed? Full service inc cambelt Fuel line clean/replace? Brake service/change inc fluids Tyres Suspension refresh New battery + alternator This isn't done …

I've been mulling over getting a car lift for sometime, but have limited headroom of approx 2300mm. For easier maintenance, but also to get my 4 toys in garage (photo attached shows my 3 toys but not my VW camper van) Had more or less resigned myself to a 4 post due to the headroom restriction, but was concerned about how much space it would take up (I planned to install it in the middle bay). Yesterday I spoke with a nice guy from twinbusch who said: Only get a 4 post if you have plenty of space, otherwise get a 2 post. I said your shortest 2 post is 2320mm and I only have 2300mm. His reply, no problem we can take 100mm of the top of each post for an …

Hi. I'm considering buying a 2 post lift for my garage for 2 reasons. 1. So I can store 2 elise one on top of another 2. To make maintenance easier I know you are required to use points B and C, but my question is does anyone know if it is possible to use a 2 post lift without having to remove the rear under tray 1st ?

Hi all. looking to get a longtail hardtop for my S2 2002 elise standard K8 engine model. Any recommendations, plenty of cheap single skin from china which would probably fit my honda better. Wanted a decent model with good noise damping in it. Car is maroon but black is fine as that's what the soft top is. Also long or short tail. many thanks Kevin

Hi, My Lotus needs a new handbrake cable, a Lotus dealership placed one on back order in August and there is still no date for arrival. Does anyone know if there are alternatives that will do the same job? As at the moment my car is just stuck in storage until I get a new handbrake cable. Thanks, Luke
