Wheel wax? 1 2

Hi folks I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good wax or polish to use on my wheels. The are satin black Team Dynamics multi-spoke and are buggers to clean. My thinking is with a good coat of wax it should be a lot easier and quicker to get the brake dust and crap off. I imagine the product will need to withstand a lot of heat from the brakes though. What says MLOC? Thanks in advance 😊 Dean

What model/brand do folks tend to use? CTEK MXS 5 seems to be well thought of. Has anyone had any issues. I was going to connect the rings straight to the battery in the boot rather than into the access panel. Can the cigarette lighter be used? I hAd a flat battery yesterday, so it’s the first time I’ve removed it from the Exige. I think it was in the wrong way. Much shorter cable to the negative terminal, but this was boot side, so I had to slide the battery out a little, undo the connection, so I could slide it out on the much longer positive so I could undo that one. I was going to put it back the other was, as it seemed to make sense with the cable…

Hi I’m new to this site, I have a Lotus Elise 2003, with a Cobra Alarm, I replaced the car battery, but the car won’t start, the door unlocks, but the alarm beeps 5 times. The lights on the dash turn on, but nothing not even a click, I have tried to reset the keys by holding both buttons down, until led in key stops flashing and then pressing large button on key, but this doesn’t make any difference. Any thoughts?

Hello, who is the go to lotus engine specialist in the midlands please? The VHPD engine in my 340r is running rough, may have only skipped a tooth but local dealer didn’t manage to improve things. Thanks.

So bear in mind I dont normally tinker with cars but my current car I would like too get my hands dirty. So i need new front pads, discs on front and rear look good. Normal fast roads and motorway driving. Or other recommendations? Thanks all 😁

Hi I am considering changing the suspension on my S1 for the S2 kit available from many places Truthfully is it worth £1k. I don't need it for track days just normal use.

Hi, did a fuel filter change on my S1 elise a few days ago, all good, only had it a couple of months. The manual says to disconnect the fuel pump fuse, then crank engine to depressurise the fuel system. After hunting for this 20 A fuse, I eventually found it hanging loose, and bears little relation to where the owners manual or service manual says it should be (even these 2 documents contradict themselves) Any idea where it is supposed to be located ?

Hi there, newbie here - I collected my 16' exige 350s before xmas and absolutely love the thing! I notice that in heavy traffic today, my temp gauge was at 96c before I turned the interior fan on full and it dropped back down to normal (low 80's) Is this normal or is 96c too high? I've checked coolant levels and that seems fine....just don't want to be doing it any damage before it goes in early for its next service. Thanks

I expected the t'interweb to be full of guides, how to's, how not to's , a couple of Belgian you tube videos and probably a tik tok of how to safely, securely and with clear descriptions and pointers to remove an S1 elise clam. But i am struggling. Seloc seems to have an S2 clam removal wiki and cant see an obvious 1 on here. Could the good people of Mloc help? As an S2 Exige owner i an obviously "asking for a friend :)"

Hi All, i guess this has been asked before, i'm looking to get my S1 Elise properly serviced, given a good once over for anything that needs doing. I'm struggling to find a specialist nearby and wondered if anyone here has some good recommendations in the North Shropshire, Welsh borders area. Thanks James

Hello all. Have got my S1 back on the road after a few years stored and thought all was well but today after 20 minutes or so I could not get 5th gear or reverse, no matter what. 1-4 slipped in ok (if a tad tight) the entire drive. They did not seem to worsen. I am hoping this is the bushes on the gear linkage (that lack of use has made them go solid) but could it be worse? * Changed the red hose years ago and the difference is it seems only the long reach gears are out of bounds. The red hose made all gears impossible! All advice appreciated.

Hi all Happy New Year to everyone! I am in the process of refurbishing the suspension on my Lotus Elise. Everything has been removed, stripped, painted etc. I am now starting the nice bit of putting it back together. I have read a number of threads on the site about the importance of using Duralac to prevent corrosion, etc. However a couple of questions, when applied should you leave until it sets completely or use when tacky so it “sticks” the two surfaces together? Also what do you do with bolts should you coat these as well? Advice and tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bill

Hi Everyone, I have noticed that Elise Shop are selling 308mm alloy belled brake disk for the S2 and S3 elise for just under 400 euros, Has anyone bought a set of these? it seems almost to good to be true, I guess postage and import taxes will increase the cost of these?

It's finally time to do the discs and pads on the Exige little winter project for me. Just after recommendations on what route to go down. I've got the 4Pot brakes on the front. So do I get the AP 308mm discs? Seen elise-shop do some aluminium bells? What size and recommendations for the rears? Just got the standard wheels front and back. Are brake pads still the pagid 42s the route to go down? Cheers
