Hi all i have tried looking through various threads regarding replacing the cv boot. no prob with draining gearbox oil or getting to the point of removing drive shaft from gearbox. It seems that this is the r difficult bit for some reason?? can anyone offer some wise words on removal of the shaft please. Or, is it easier than it is made out to be? I take it I will need to split the cv joint from the shaft to put new cv boots on? cheers

Does anyone know what other cars these might be from? I am trying to find some of the original S1 basic black plastic controls. The part numbers A082P4350F and A111P6003F seem to be long discontinued. Thanks, Tom

Hi I've recently purchased a series 2 111S and the suspension seems quite crashy over pot holes and rough roads. I think it is on the original dampers and is a 2004 with about 57,000mls. Having not driven an Elise before I wasn't sure if the suspension is shot or the bushes or its just what to expect. I'm thinking they need replacement but didn't want to spend £1000+ if it's not going to make a lot of difference and I have read mixed messages in forums. With some saying that shocks probably would need replacement at this kind of mileage and new ones were like light and day between worn ones at similar mileage, where others have commented that suspension is crash…

Hi, So, the 2008 Elise I have just bought, has a none Bluetooth stereo head unit, and so I wish to replace it. My requirements are: Single DIN size USB port in front panel Detachable front panel CD player would be nice but not a must I don't like them with lots of flashy lights or big screens, they are just distracting and more things to go wrong. I particularly like the look of the Blaupunkt Doha https://www.asmobilesolutions.co.uk/pro ... -car-radio, but the front panel is non detachable. I did find these https://www.amazon.co.uk/auna-RMD-Sende ... ics&sr=1-5 http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/bluetoo ... -bluetooth But I've never heard of these …

I felt a very slight hesitancy under acceleration so decided to check the air filter as I hadn't in the time I had the car, to say it was dirty is an understatement, I have changed for a Pipercross performance filter Seems to have put things right, has anyone else fitted the Pipercross filter?

I fancied fitting some GT410/430 style shark fin protectors to my Evora, I have to say this was for totally cosmetic reasons since the paintwork already has ppf applied in that area anyhow. Whilst aftermarket pairs of these can be readily bought on line I thought I’d save some money and cut some myself so ordered a small piece of protective vinyl to try. With us not being able to get out very much I’m not entirely sure what the texture of the genuine Lotus vinyl is like so can’t be sure how similar my piece of vinyl might be but I thought it was worth a try anyhow. The texture is very much like that of a small-scale piece of Scalextric track. I looked at …

Hi, I need to take the seats and carpets out of my S2 Elise tomorrow to dry it out. Is this a simple job? Anything I need to be aware of?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could have some information about some aspects of my car - I'm just wondering if its just because its a Lotus! I've noticed some imperfections in the paint of my engine bay. I saw them when I bought the car, but the other day I noticed that there seemed to be just more of it (at first it was just on the right edge of the engine bay and now it seems to be multiplying towards the other side. ) Is this normal? I've seen this type of paint quality in photos of early S2s, but maybe its a sign of something, or maybe its just normal in these early Elises (mine is May 2002) I've also wondered some coolant residues on the expa…

Has anyone used Voodoo paintworks for painting calipers. They seem active on Facebook Lotus groups and photos look pretty good. Thought with them being Nottingham based someone on here may have used them and be able to give some feedback on how they have lasted.

Hi everyone, I bought a low mileage and completely original s2 last year. I love it but I wish it was more willing to rev and spend more time at a high rpm . I'm fairly happy with the amount of power the car has, as I use it mainly for local b-roads and I'm planning the odd track day this year or two. Naturally, I've started looking at options to change the way the engine seems to run out of puff above 5k rpm. Seeing as I want to keep it as original as possible, I don't really want to modify the engine too much, so when I heard that a set of Piper 270 cams are a straight drop in with no need to change the ecu or flow the head and that it would get the engin…
