A couple of days ago I went out in my s2 k series Elise and on starting there was a noise behind my head like driving along with the door ajar, I hadn’t started the Elise for over a week and it was hooked up to a trickle charger. ( it’s only driven about 200 miles this year)The battery light remained on longer than usual about five ten seconds but the noise remained, I continued to drive and unfortunately as I joined the a14 my engine management light came on and the car went in to limp mode, other than a loss of power the car seemed ok, I then came off the next slip road about five miles down and the car on stopping was struggling to idle dropping to an almost stal…

Another garage option for the discerning k-series or honda powered Lotus owner. Just been to see these guys for a rolling road tune after some engine fettling. Nice and friendly bunch, honest as the day is long and know what they're doing. They are mx-5 specialists but used to support the elise race series, and were the first to build a Honda elise I believe. Good for: Servicing / Geo / rolling road tuning or power runs. Rolling road isn't strictly true as its two independent boxes they bolt your hubs to and so they measure 'at the hub'. Anyway they get my recommendation and good to know they are around as another option for k-series and Hon…

Finally got around to pealing off the saggy roof lining. Not sure whether to get it re-trimmed or clean it up and just spray it blue to match the car 🤔

Hi all for anyone with an early s2 i thought i would share my experience of the T7 Design heater kit. I have a 2002 s2 and the heater has always been dreadful. I purchased one of the kits and Gav at Unit 4 fitted it. it included wiring so i left it to the expert. It’s fantastic it blows hot air for once. For anyone thinking about getting one they are well worth the investment. https://www.t7design.co.uk/vx220-s2-elise-replacement-heater-kit.html Sheldon

I am off on track for the 1st time this year at Donnington on 21st September. I am giving the car a good shake down, having refreshed the ohlins suspension and replaced all the suspension bushes with superpro's over lockdown i am re visiting older parts and find the air intake has seen better days, I have no idea what brand is fitted, but its similar but probably less expensive to the ITG system. i dont have the original box, so replacing this with an uprated filter is out. and spending ££££ on the ITG system is not ideal after spending on the suspension, so i am looking to you guys for advice / suggestions on the best replacement? cheers richbk…

Up early this morning to make the most of the nice weather but my 2002 Elise will not start, so here’s the problem as I can best describe it as I’m no mechanic! battery been on charge all week and green light on the CTEK so all should be well with that. When I turn on the ignition all the Stack lights come on ok, and are bright but the starter motor sounds like it’s struggling to turn over but I can hear a rapid clicking noise and all the headlights and headlight warning buzzer comes on but the engine will not start! Any thoughts and advice would be very much appreciated on this early Sunday morning Thanks Kevin

Having a free evening and looking through my Elise paperwork I found my notes on sorting out a sticky accelerator for my K series Elise. So thought I’d post this after spending the better part of a year trying to resolve it, and boy it was horrendous. I’d gently press the accelerator and… nothing. A little more pressure and still nothing. A little bit…OMG the accelerator would drop 10-15mm and I’d be 10meters down the road or stalled. This would happen all the way through the travel but was a bit better on the move. When it wasn’t too dangerous to drive it completely ruined the whole driving experience - for me and seemingly for all those who put up individual pos…

Hi, Hope you're all well. Can anyone tell me what diameter hose I need for this thing, see red arrow on picture below (which I think is a water trap, but I'm probably wrong?). I assume that if I just order some vacuum hose that will be fit for purpose? Many thanks, Gareth

Hi So, I replaced my 111s Elise circa 18months ago for a S2 exige Toyota lump thinking it'll be bullet proof (I've done less then 500miles in that time). It doesn't seem to be the case for me, I dropped the car off with oakmere last week and just been told that the engine needs to come out, crank would need machining,tappets......the list went on at which point I stopped listening and felt sick of the thought of the potential bill. Long story short I think I'm on the hunt for a replacement engine as this might actually be the most cost effective option for me (damage limitation at this point). Could you kind souls please point me in the direction of any reputabl…
