S3 Front Grill

Hi Guy' doe's anyone know if the front grill on an Elise 220S can be replaced without removing the Clam ?

I think it's bonded into position from inside Ray

I have considered cutting mine out and leaving just a few 'ends' in place so that I can attach a new grill (cut down to the correct shape) in some way. It seems like a lot of effort though when all I really want to do is fit a better horn - I don't  like it sounding like a Noddy car - peep peep!

There are at least a couple of different grilles, but I think they all go on the same with a bunch of self-tapping screws into spire clips.  Fastened from the other side of course, but I think you can get to them from underneath without taking off the clam.  When you've finished messing with the undertray, you might wish you'd taken the clam off!  Side grilles slightly different, think you can reach those from the wheel arch.

As Lithopsian correctly says, self tappers/spire clips. Not sure about access from under tray though - I think the crash box will stop you

I think I'm going to wait until I respray the front clam, such a simple thing yet so difficult ☹️
