Hi, the engine management light on my 2008 Elise came on tonight. Switching off and on made no difference. Can anyone please recommend an OBD reader. I have an Android phone and I believe there are also apps you can download that Bluetooths to the reader. Thanks

I have recently purchased a soft top (second hand) from a reputable Lotus dealer but it just doesn’t seem to sit right. There’s a bit of a dip at the front. It’s a 2015 s3 Elise. Does anyone know if adjusting the tensioners will correct this? I’m sure the roof on my old 2007 s2 elise was tighter than this. Thanks Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New Battery

Hi The winter has killed the battery finally. It's lasted me well though. So I need a new battery. I know quite a few go for the Odyssey PC680, is that still a firm favourite? How are people mounting these safely in the boot, any pictures? If I go down the Odyssey route are people doing when not in use disconnecting or isolator switch or trickle charging? Thanks

I failed to notice a few spatters of bird dropping that sat for a few weeks on the protective Armourfend film on my car. Does anyone know how that can be safely removed. It's a reddish stain. I've tried various things but so far nothing has removed the mark and as always I'm concerned about abrasion making things worse.

Last Sunday my speedo was dead, then it sprang into life after a few miles, then for the rest of the journey went up and down like an Irishman's drinking arm on St Patrick's day. The speed sensor is located on the nearside rear wheel hub, where it counts the revolutions of a geared spline mounted on the driveshaft. Easy enough to get to, but unfortunately the head of the bolt that holds the sensor to the mounting bracket sheared of, so had to take the complete bracket of, and my local garage (very helpful they are) are going to weld a nut onto the top of the stud for me, and then I should be able to get the stud out. To get the sensor of the bracket, I had …

I have had the Katana 2 on my 2005 Elise for a while, and I notice that on initial acceleration there is quite a bit of lag before it accelerates in a quicker linear fashion. It almost reminds me of a large turbo car in that way. Is it possible the SC is worn? I purchased it used and it looked to be in perfect condition. I changed the oil and the screwed had no wear or flaking. I did notice the pulley didn't turn freely without some effort. I haven't had a lot of experience with SCs, as I have had mostly high HP NA cars. Any input would be appreciated!

Took the front grill of to paint it, and one of the driving lights literally fell into my hand. Think the bracket is a bit beyond saving. Oh well, the car is 23 yrs old and 85k miles and only had it 5 months. At least new brackets are available. Step by step hey

Howdy - just wondered if anybody had ever done any kind of repair to any of the plastic bits on their car? Noticed today I have some chips in the plastic bit here that seem to have gone through to a white colour? Its quite a matt grey type finish here and I wondered if anybody had any advice?

A few days ago, a window on my S1 elise dropped. The white plastic clips had detached from the window. Got new clips from eliseparts. Attached the new ones to window with tiger seal, let it go of. Tonight spent 2 hrs ago putting it all back together. Tested it, a small gap at the top, but liveable with I thought. Up and down it went, working OK, then a clunk, new clips had separated from the glass again. To say I am peed of is an understatement. Any idea what I might be doing wrong ? Is tiger seal not the right stuff to use (the tiger seal is stuck on the window, the clips have separated from the tiger seal). Any help or advice apprecia…
