Due to the ‘leather’ wearing away on my centre console, I have replaced it with a carbon one. I actually quite liked the Terminator look! Carbon one looks lovely but I need to fiddle with the hole for the rear window demister as it is currently too big. Might not bother as I never use it anyway!! Just need something to plug the hole!! Answers on a postcard 😆 Alcantara gear and handbrake gaiters to match my seats.

Rear tyres will need changing fairly soon.................... My Exige is currently fitted with 265/35R18 rears. The Sport 380/410/430 are fitted with 285/30R18. Would there be any benefit in going with a bigger profile rear tyre? I'm just looking at some options. Cup2's are proving difficult to find.

Hi, this is a nine years later follow up of this archived discussion I've just changed the clutch and flywheel and I have the same problem. I've now noticed the EliseParts product page tells about it But i've increased the travel to the maximum and it still doesn't shift. Should I get a longer push rod ? is this normal ? (1998 car). Thanks for the help.

Hi A couple of weeks ago my 2008 Elise failed its MOT due to leaking rear Bilstein dampers. A look on elise parts and they were £330 incl Vat each without the springs, so I decided to look at my options and found out that Bilstein offer a rebuild service. Dropped them of at their service centre in Leicester last Monday, picked them up yesterday. £140 incl vat per damper for new seals, pistons, gas and oil plus a degrease so less than half the cost of new ones. Very good service. Before and after photos

I'm going to treat myself to a new exhaust on my 2005 S2 111s. But I am undecided whether to go with a Larini sport or Clubsport. The standard exhaust is very muted and does not suit the cars character at all. I would like a noticeable difference but dont want to be completely deafened. Has anyone fitted the Sport? Is it loud enough. Or is the Clubsport too harsh? Thanks

Hi peeps, I have a decent oil leak on my 430cup and keen to understand common areas on the Toyota v6 to check. Will be jacking it this weekend to have a proper look. It appears to be directly under the sump. also - is there a gasket or liquid gasket to put onto baffle sump? Can’t see any service details to refit baffle (nor bolt part numbers). any advice appreciated. Thks

I have never done fibre glass repairs, but wondered if anyone in the midlands can give me some tips on how best to get started? Thks

Hello guys. I am surprised there is not more on here about using Led Projectors for the dip beam in the US you can get the ORE kit which is still a bit pricy. I beleve he found a good unit that people can retrofit, and provided the extra brackets to adapt it. Link I am trying some brighter bulbs for now, but do think there must be a reasonably proces solution to go LED with somthing reliable, and fassion our own brackets. I can do CAD and many people will cut seel to a drawing for reasonable money. Has this been discussed and rejected?

Hello Guys I am new here and to Louts in general. I bought a S2 2004 in august. and started working on it over the christmas break. Many advisoraies, and the headlamps were just pants. My question for today is on the fastners. This car has had a bump on the corner, and I am not sure if any of the fastners are the correct. What washers should be used to hold the frame in? and what washers should hold the lense cover in? 1 washer stack has a plastic and metal washer. The holes for the Lense cover is quite large, so needs a large washer, but because the hole is so big, the washers have domed in. Is this normal?

Hi all, Does anyone use a crook-lock type of device to help secure their Lotus Emira. I am concerned that standard devices are likely to be too long/large to fit the small Emira steering wheel. Does anyone have any experience and/or recommendations for products they use and know work well with the Emira? Thanks in advance. Geoff.

AND FREE IS NOT GOOD IN THIS CASE !!! MG Rover have changed the LPW100181 oil filters which were / are the "OEM" filter for the K Series and they are now 15% longer, that's 13 mm. We used to stock and sell loads of the original filters, but not any more they are just too long. You can read all about it on our website if you fancy (https://www.carservicepacks.co.uk/2025/01/16/lpw100181-oil-filter-15-extra-free/ ) but basically with the proximity of the oil filter and the exhaust, the last thing you need is the filter being 13mm closer to the manifold. The previous version of the LPW100181 was made by Borg and Beck so we have gone back to these filters for all of o…

Hi all, this is just an update rather than a question. I am installing a radar detector in my Emira and decided I would try to hard wire it, taking a feed from the passenger footwell fusebox. So, in accordance with the manual, I set about attempting to remove the passenger footwell toe board panel, which is secured by four quarter turn fasteners (one in each corner). Removing the fasteners is easy enough, but then you have to remove the toe board panel itself. As far as I can establish, this is extremely difficult and/or practically impossible without damaging something. So, in the end, after much struggling, I decided to give up on that idea completely and run a wi…

Hi all, out of curiosity has anybody experienced anything in relation to fan bearings going ? when driving it maintains a steady 90degrees in traffic the highest I’ve seen it go is 105degrees at the point the fans are embarrassingly loud. What sort of time frame have you got left until these fans essentially give up ? I have got the car booked in how ever it’s more a drive ability in the mean time or is it a case of park it up and leave it alone until they’re sorted ? Has anybody experienced the same / similar? also has anybody had the conversion done to top mount the radiators ? Many thanks.
