Are these the same as the Lotus OE covers? Just wondering as the OE are about £80 and Eliseparts are £50 Are the OE ones better quality at all?

Doing a bit of paintwork on the Elise and have had a good quote from Hallcraft and a pretty poor one from Nick Whale. I know some of you have used a garage in Leicester - what's it called? Would rather have somewhere a bit closer to home. Cheers, Fiona

Insured with Adrian Flux, due to Mloc wabritising, but have huge forms to fill in.... What kind of tyres, mods etc (great rate btw) However I need to advise what immobiliser I have. How do I know? Are all 99 Elises not fitted with the same one? Does it say in any log books or in the car somewhere? I have always thought I had the cobra alarm, is it not part of that? Ladders, which ones in your car? In fact Beefcake, what was in your 111s? THANKS! bramble

Now that I got your attention.... how do I get my gear nob off? I have removed the allen bolt. The other holes underneath are just that and do not have any screws to undo. It looks like it should just twist off, however despite years of practice buliding up wrist strength, I can't seem to shift it WD40 in the japs eye has no effect either. Is it going to be a case of molegrips and a cloth? Who's done this without totally destroying the gear nob? Cheers

Just looking around the net and found this pic of a black S1 with clear lenses. I wondered if anyone has a pic of the front of a black S1 with clear lenses. Don't know who this car belongs to, but with the clear lenses and the fancy wheels I do quite like it. Is Eliseparts the only place that does the clear indicator lenses?

I went to Nick Whales open day on Sunday. The better half and i had a sit in a couple of S2,s We noticed how much more comfortable the seats are. Now im sure that a few of you will consider this as sacrilage. Are the seats from the S1 and S2 a straight swap ? We have an excuse for such thoughts as we are the wrong side of 40

After Scott's short review of these tyres, http://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/forum/index...ic=2150&hl=tyre I've booked in for service , MOT and tyres. Tried my local for the T1-R, but both they and Horizon told me that the T1-R is not available in 195/50/15 size. Scott - thought this is what you've got fitted and that you got them from Horizon ? Booked a full set of T1-S for now. All T1-R on long back order apparently. Chris

On the way to the Nott pub meet, put the heater fan on and got a nasty noise and the car filled with the smell of burning plastic. Hastily turned it off. Lst time this happened NW had to replace the whole fan (thankfully it was under warantee then) Took a trip to Horizon next day only to have one of their mechanics turn the fan on and bits of dried leave come through the airvent and then the fan started working again. Well I had a nice cup of tea and a chat with Mike and Wendy, then buggered off home again (cheapest trip to Horizon yet). I read about cutting up a pair of old tights (the missus not mine) and putting them over the intake under the front driver's …

Having recently become an S1 owner, i have a couple of questions. Im thinking of buying S2 suspension ( new springs and dampers ) The first question is, who is the cheapest to get them from ? The second question is, is the upgrade worth doing ? ie in terms of quietness from the suspension etc. Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Guys, I'm sure this isn't big news, but ... Popped into our local Rover dealer earlier. Others bods have mentioned Elise parts can often be sought from Rover as MG F parts. When I had the Geo done by Mike at Horizon, he spotted my plastic wheel nut cover removing tool was broken and would not be of any use in the event of a wheel change. So, parts department closed for business but the service manager was still kicking about and confirmed its the same part on the MG F. Will post price and part number when I pick one up. Check the little lugs on yours, it not that obvious until it's pointed out. I ate Nick Whales pig !

Just off for MoT this morning, haven't driven the S1 for a few weeks and when we get going (after about 10 miles) the flipping thing starts kangarooing once we're up over around 2.5k revs and 40-50 mph. Luckily I had an alternative/slower route I could take. Seems to be independent of clutch and there's no warning from the management system - what's going on? Any aswers on a posting greatly appreciated.
