Just noticed that the inside of the headlamp covers are misting up, although only the bottom couple of inches. Any ideas - Tighten the retaining screws of the covers maybe ?? Otherwise I'll get someone to look at it when I decide where to go for my new tyres. Steven

So - the tyre saga continues. I called Horizon today to see if they can get me some new rear A048's. They told me that Lotus Cars Ltd have sole distribution rights to these tyres from Yokohama, and that the only place you can get them is from Lotus Cars Lts or their dealer network ???? I will get my car serviced at the factory next year as per the tip from ChrisH, but could do with some new tyres soonish, but don't fancy two trips to the factory. Any ideas ?

This happened a while back, but I wasn't too worried as its the pass side. The felt lined rubber piece, which sits inside the door, came up with the glass, so as its was jamming the window I pulled it completely out. It must be the bit that the glass sits in when inside the door, to shield it from the guide.... How does it go back? What kind of glue?!?!? Anyone done this?

Well, hardly 'technical', but there isnt an 'ineptitude' section for posting so: Can anyone explain what the 3 buttons are for lights and how they work .. Be gentle, Ive only been driving for 10 years.(2 of which are in the Elise) I know the middle one is main headlights, full beamed from stalk(!). That seems to have been quite helpful in the dark. To its right, apparently, is the fog light(says so in manual)-a rear red fog light, behind the grille? Only seems to work if the main lights are on, but does nothing up front as far as I can guess. The leftmost seems to be a waste of space..makes my dash blink. And I have driving lights, which seem to only come on with …

So Bell & Colville is £20.00 a set cheaper than Eliseparts - is there much of a difference between them (quality / peformance)??? Interested to hear back from any of you who have fitted them as to: 1 Ease of fitment 2 How they look 3 Do they have the rubber grommets as per the original A new one from Vahxhall is £20 & Lotus is £30......... Thinking of saving myself £20 & going for Bell & Colville as the original repalcements are so expensive. Cheers Mark

Came out of work yesterday literally with zero visibility - it was thick fog on the inside of my screen - took me 10 minutes to clear it whilst risking life and limb . eventually having to pull over. Thought bollocks to this and stopped off at halfords on the way home. Bottle of fog-x for 5.99 - smeared almost all the bottle over the inside window - result this morning - no mist whatsoever apart from the rear view that i had forgotten about. Miracle juice - and a must have right alongside the S2 wiper and Osram bulbs. Also got a nice stereo at the weekend. Thinking of upgrading... Look no further...lovely piece of kit. http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/…

I'm dreadinging the responses to this - but ...... I've noticed that my nearside wheel is slightly further back than my offside (half inch max). Found out whilst washing the inside of the wheel arches. I've had the car (S1 Elise) since Feb and it drives really well no pulling to one side - no uneven wear pattern on the tyres - so all seems OK. The only thing that I can recall is hitting an un marked sleeping policeman one evening at about 30 mph which caused a bit of a jolt. Am I being paranoid - or what could the problem be & what's a low cost way (ie probably not a main dealer) to get it checked & sorted? Cheers Worried from Derbyshire - aka Mark

Sorry to bring this up again, I know there are threads on the site about this already but if you fit S2 suspension to an S1 and change the ride height to 110/120, will the car still clear road humps? Don't want to damage Ellie, haven't had her long!

I've had an intermittent problem with the radiator fan switching on unnecessarily at normal or even low engine temperatures (when the engine is warming up from cold). I took it into Storm in Leicester to get it checked out and they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. At the time the battery was on its way out and after I changed it the radiator problem disappeared. Recently the problem has recurred. The fan is running almost as soon as the engine is warm enought to register a temperature at all. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I would also be interested to know how other members rate Storm.

Driving Lights 1 2

I'm looking to purchase an elise in the very near future, can any tell me if the replacement of the driving lights (those in the front grill), as they are cracked and broken is an easy job to do. I have already priced up replacement items on eliseparts.com but I am worried if the job can be done without removing the front clam. Hope someone can advise?
