Hi I have noticed a few stone chips on the paint (titanium S1). Can anyone recommend a repairer ? Also what sort of finish do you get, are they still visible ? thanks Andy

Ive been told that the exige exhaust will fit an elise no problem but that the tailpipes stick out too far as the clam on the exige is longer, my question is how far do they stick out and does it look silly, thinking about a Janspeed from an exige you see.

Anyone know where you can get the Lotus black/silver nose and tail badges from? And does anyone know if they're the ceramic ones or the cheapy plastic items? On a side note - have you seeen the amount of crappy tack you can buy for the Elise? I never really noticed before...stick on carbon covers for your wing mirrors. Nice

Anybody got any recomendations for Wiper baldes. Mine's never been much cop but seems to have detiorated of late. I've heard you can replace the entire system but this sounds both time consuming and costly. Anybody got any quick/cheap recomendation???????

Had thought I'd managed to adjust the exhuast (after bending the hanger this way and that for 3 hours ) so it didnt burn into the clam, again! But noticed it's started to do it again, even though the pipes sit in the middle of the hole So was wondering, would it be a good idea to rivet a some sort of stainless steel at the top of the hole to protect the bodywork? Cheers for any advice! Dave

The Snooper speed (from GPS) matched the speedo speed exactly when I had bald P0s on the car. Now I've got Toyos T1Rs, the difference is about 10%. Obviously, the tyre is bigger, but I didn't expect that much change . So, if you haven't got a Snooper (or similar) and you get new tyres, don't forget to keep BELOW the speed limit on the Elise (S1) speedo. Mine reads 27-28 when the Snooper says 30, 36-37 when it says 40, etc. Chris PS - part work fronts still FS .....

I'm going to get one of these soon. Someone recommended the optimate III to me - any good?? Also you can get an atatchment for the power socket in the car - but it has to be live when the ignition is off. Does anyone know if it is live on the S2 (111s) Thanks Matt

When i got into my car this evening i caught my windscreen wiper stalk and it snapped off. I can still use my wipers luckily, but I obviously need to get a new one. I just wondered if someone could tell me if this is a Lotus part or am I able to source this part from elsewhere. Is it a difficult job to replace or is it a 5 minute job? Any help greatly received Derek

I have a S2 111s and have upgraded to include a B&C SS sports exhaust and an ITG induction kit, combined adding approx 18 bhp, up to 174 ish. The car is quick, but strangely doesn't 'feel' as quick as I know it is, (a 'sense of speed' is a wierd thing). Went in a run in an Evo FQ330 the other day and the thing felt sooooo much quicker, although only about 1 sec separates 0-60 times. I know that 330 bhp vs. 174 is always going to feel completely different whatever the weight of the car, but the experience has got me wondering.... Anyone know how I can add some extra horses without affecting reliability? Would love to get to approx 200 bhp, but how do I do…

Has anyone managed to change a (front) wheel bearing at home? i have an S reg S1. It has a repeated knocking of the brake pads on one side after i changed the brake discs. I have tried all 4 new discs on that wheel, packing the pads etc. to no avail. i noticed that the bearing is a bit grindy and not too smooth so i believe i need to change it. the book says to pull out the old brearing and then heat the hub carrier to 90 deg for 20 mins in order to slot in the new bearing. HAS ANYONE TRIED THIS ??? DID IT WORK ??? IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO KNOW??? If not, does anyone know of any GOOD machine shops etc ( in the TELFORD area). that can replac…

Is the Elise prone to noise from the gearbox? Normal driving ie car in gear/foot on accelarator-no noise. Let the car freewheel in gear and a noise like gears rotating results. Accelerating again or pressing the clutch stops it. Is this normal?Main dealer told me it was 'cos its a rover gearbox.

Are these the same as the Lotus OE covers? Just wondering as the OE are about £80 and Eliseparts are £50 Are the OE ones better quality at all?
