Windscreen Wiper Stalk

When i got into my car this evening i caught my windscreen wiper stalk and it snapped off.

 

I can still use my wipers luckily, but I obviously need to get a new one. I just wondered if someone could tell me if this is a Lotus part or am I able to source this part from elsewhere.

 

Is it a difficult job to replace or is it a 5 minute job?

AFAIK, it's from an Vauxhall Astra. You should be able to pick one up quite cheaply.

It's a standard Vauxhall part. Not sure of the wiper part no, but the indicator switch is GM part number - 9181010, or so it says here...

I do like the alloy stalks, very nice

 

If I decide to go down the alloy route will I need to buy the vauxhall part as well? or do the alloy ones come with switches? Or maybe I don't need to replace the switches.

Scrap yard, any 90s Vauxhall. A couple of quid.

I did my headlights one trying to get a suitcase (and person) into the pax seat, got a secondhand one from eliseparts for a tenner. Fits in fifteen minutes with a philips screwdriver but make sure you take the roof off first as you need to get under the steering column

They are only about a tenner new from Vauxhall. Just don't get one with a rear wiper 'cos they don't work...
