I've just had the above forwarded to me in an email... sounds slightly alarming! I have spoken to Mike about it as i had them fitted 3 weeks ago... he assures me that the std P-Clip does actually have a rubber insert so should prevent the above happening, it may occur if the rubber insert has gone missing though.. so might be worth you folks checking your cars. Thanks to Emma for sending it

Does anyone know of any upgrades required for the headlights on a MK2 Elise? As soon as I have to dip my headlights the visability is severely decreased, so night driving is an absolute nightmare! I have spoken to Mike at Horizon who is going to look into it for me as he doesn't know of any at the moment. Cheers, Steve

OK so I decided to try and do it myself. The idea was to learn a bit more about what's under the skin of the beast. 1. Took the middle undertray off 2. Tried to take the rear undertray off, but couldn't undo one of the centre allen key bolts as I didn't have the right size key in my tool box 3. Took the rear grills off to get a better view 4. Grills were rusting, so cleaned them up and painted 5. Looked at CRP, looked at what I though was the Cat 6. Scratched head as they looked completely different fittings 7. Realised what I thought was the Cat was nothing of the sort and just some flexy bit in the exhaust 8. Found the Cat right infront of my eyes be…

So er, 5:35pm Monday, pissing down, HARD (the rain not me). Funny whiring sound, wiper arm takes vertical poition on windscreen and refuses to usher any further moisture from said pissing down environment. You pays Smithys Motors a bundle of cash and a kidney, and the cheapo nasty Spanish marked wiper motor/ mechanism/ idea goes tits up on first real use. Took the plastic cover off - Great help ! - that will be the motor then. No mechanism movment, some noise going on in the motor, not fused, wiper arm does move across screen freely and eccentric motion of wiper mechanism cam seems free, but feels disjointed from wiper motor shaft (maybe) Nowt else o…

Is it a particually good time to sell? I've only had my elise a few months. I love it in the dry- cant say enough about handling etc but really dont like driving in the wet, it's compleatly different. I'm hoping for a new job which means a lot more travelling but also a pay drop. I've thought about two cars but as i'm quite young i cant afford insurance on two cars. SO thinking going back to my 106 gti or similar I'm rather sad really....

I'm going off Horizon, every time i visit it costs me money Dilemma: New flexi section from Lotus - £240 fitted Janspeed 4-2-1 + flexi section - £530 fitted Latter has more power, more torque, lifetime warranty etc... but obviously costs lots more. I am heading for the Janspeed more i think... but anyone have any thoughts on it first?? Any better manifolds out there for sensible money - the Eliseparts one looks great, but costs too much for me!

I'm going to replace my driving lamps (one of the lenses has disappeared, and the brackets are shot) i've purchased new brackets, lamps, covers and all the adjusters and bolts. Is there anything I should know before I start replacing them?? Is there any pitfalls, easy way of doing this........

Got into my car this morning and realised that it was no longer a car but a paddling pool. I have had leaks in the past (car that is) but they were mild, this is a full on leak of titanic proportions and i am tres annoyed! What to do???? The leak seems to be in the front corners of the windows. Is it worth buying a rain cover and putting it over the roof....and does it cover the around the windows. Any photos of rain covers on ??? Any ideas would be greatfully recieved. I am off to mop the insides of my car out Ally
