hi, I'm fairly new here, and am wondering if any of you have any suggestions on what to do with an Elan to get it performing a little smoother. Much as i love turbos the lack of low end power is a real pain, so i'd like to try and smooth things out a little. So far i have only changed the air filter to a green cotton one, and that has certainly helped the car breathe. does anyone have any opinion on the following thoughts? replace air intake pipe with something more solid bigger fuel jets stronger fuel pump replacement ECU aside from trying to get it to go a little faster i could do with reducing the body roll when cornering, and add some more sentisivity t…

Hi I'm new on here and this is my first post so be gentle. I bought my S2 from Nick Whale in February and it only had 6k on the clock, with full lotus service history. But the next scheduled service is for a B-Service even though the car still only has 10k on the clock. Now I've phoned a few places and I can't believe the price some Lotus dealers are trying to charge me, £470 for a B-service on a K series is taking the P**S I phoned Horizon and they quoted £243 and I know through reading topics on here all you guys rate Horizon Highly. I then Phoned PTP in Hinckley, They have quoted £170 plus if you a SELOC member you get a discount as well. PTP …

Not too sure what is causing it but it just started happening. Switch the heater fan on, very high pitched squeal! uncomfortable on the ears! so can't use the fan at the mo'. Could it be a dry bearing or something caught in the mechanism. Where do I start looking to get to the fan and motor? Cheers Dunc

Windows Bust

Having recently bought an Elise I have had problems with the drivers window, I can't wind it down. After looking inside the door, the rubber on the channel that the window runs down has perished and has bent out of shape. I spoke to the dealer who quoted 2-3 hours labour, ouch!!. Does anyone have any experience of doing this themselves, if so how hard is it? or, do you know a friendly garage somewhere in the west midlands who can do it at a decent labour charge? Also any ideas on anyone who can help with a repair/replacement alarm fob?

I know there was a thread about it recently, but I wanted to ask some questions relevant to my car. Firstly, I've decided a front end respray would do wonders for my car. The stone chipping on the front clam is pretty bad and all the laquer has come off giving the nose a rough, pitted and dry feeling In addition I have this really annoying crazing to the paint around and between the Lotus badge and passenger side indicator where the paint has really cracked badly (I have NO idea why). I can see a large sliver of paint coming away in the next few months if I'm not careful The car is Ruby Red by the way... I wonder whether it could have anything to do with the ca…

Just fitted the SBS pads to the car today. What's the best way to bed them in? 1. Gentle use for a couple of hundred miles 2. Several increasingly hard stops 3. Gentle then a few hard stops Need to get them up to full capacity for Sunday. Tarticus

I have seen a few Lotus with yellow brakes and think it looks good. Has anyone done this themselves and what is best to use?
