Theres a 1.8 turbo conversion from the Audi TT 225 that has two options...250bhp or 300bhp. Ive beeen told the 250 is best as its much more responsive and less lag...basically the 300bhp option is for the drag racers. Any info/experiences on this conversion? Its cheaper than the K20 but is it a viable alternative?

Greetings all, Despite having the car dynoed recently and all being ok on the power front (165 @7k, nice) I still quite often have the problem of when stopping for lights etc the engine drops straight thru tick over and stalls or coughs and spits at 4-500rpm and needs blipping to keep it running, also when the car has been stopped a few minutes it sometimes starts and ticks over at 2500-3000+ rpm, I know 160s run rough low down which is why it should tick over at 1300 but something else is not quite right with it. thoughts anybody?, similar experiences?

Under Power

Hi All, After my battery problems have been sorted (see other post from last week) I seem to be under power. Horizon gave the car an A-Service last week doing all the usual + a cam gasket. Part of the problem with the battery was that the dials went nuts but I feel like the car is not accelerating like it should. Before, the car used to rev quickly to 6k revs, particulaly in 1st, 2nd and 3rd (as you'd expect). Now it seems an eternity of foot to the floor before I get to 5k revs and by this time its so noisy (which may be due to the increasing size of the hole in the exhaust ) and I change up. I have done a quick time on the way home and was okay to …

Hi All, Was just about to have a good thrash 'round the Derbyshire hills and noticed that the battery warning light on the dash was on (while I as still in garage) I thought this may be nothing at first, just as I had just started up so I went down the road a couple of miles but was still on. So I came back to look at the driver guide which says it may be the akternator belt having failed or an electrical fault. I can't see the alternator so can't easily check. I have aslo just noticed that when I start the car, all of the dash lights come on again and the speedo & rev re-set again (like when you start the ignition to position II) which I don't think is …

Does anyone else get or know how to cure a loud bang that occurs when i go over a fairly large bump at speed? It sounds like it is coming from the drivers door, and i think it could be either the window inside the door, or the door actually banging on the sill. Any Ideas?

Please can someone tell me what a track rod end does! Seen it loads as an Elise tadts thing, but in this case its to resolve a disagreement I have had with my creator and keeper of the womb. This is in reference to a trusty Toyota Carina. Basically, MOT was failed due to track rod end. The mot was then passed by someone who may have overlooked it by mistake<cough>The questions are: a) What does it do? If it needs replacing and isn't done immediately, what damage/danger can it cause?

Hi I'm going to order a Larini exhaust system for my car, and was wondering if i'll need a fitting kit (like the eliseparts one) or not? I'm going to get my local garage to fit it, so should they have all the hangars etc that they'll need? full review when its delivered and fitted thanks, Paul

Hi Everyone, I have managed to loose my locking wheel nut and I am due to change my brakes!! Apparently I should have a code I can give to a rover dealer so they can replace the nut. Does anybody know where this code can be found? Any help would be great
