Mark H
You do know about the steering lock right? try moving the steering wheel at the same time while the key is in the slot.

ipanter
do you have a heavy bunch of keys on your key ring? if so the constant swinging of them whilst moving causes the barrel or key (whichever is softer) to wear, if this is the case try your spare key and hope that it is the key that is softer. GCCK
The Elise key is a Vauxhall part. Does that mean the lock would be, also?
Reg
The Elise key is a Vauxhall part. Does that mean the lock would be, also? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, the lock will be a Vauxhall part. Use a squirt of WD40, or similar in the lock. Reg - Master Locksmith
