Picked up my car this weekend (yellow 111s courtesy of Malbon) and im now a very happy chappy Spent the whole weekend nipping here and there running pointless errands and loving every minute of it.Had a couple of fights with the alarm till i figured out it was me and not the car , and also the brand new boot release failed as i was showing my father-in-law around, but other than that im really pleased with it. I really was it two minds as to wether to buy a Lotus or not.........but im so glad i did. At the moment im trying to find some good breakdown cover (just for peace of mind) any suggestions welcome or is it a choice of two,R.AC and AA.

Took a trip to Sinclaires yesterday to have one of the Eliseparts motorsport roof scoop extension fitted. Apparantly it took a bit of fitting, but it should help push a lot more air into the enginebay as the front overhangs the windscreen.

OK . I have a Magnetic Blue Exige S2.... I have never realy been into the stripes on cars that run in just a straight line. Looking at old photo most racing stripes went around the mouth/air intake on cars.. (Lotus/Jag/Caterham/Ginetta Etc). So this is the question, If I was to have a stripe on my car it would be Yellow, a single stripe that went from Front to back & around the front grill, more like older cars... I have attached a couple of pictures Before and after (The photoshop is a bit rubbish, but was done in only a couple of mins, but should give you an idea of what I am on about. I would have thought that it would be cheaper touching in the st…

Been thinking about how we could raise extra funds for MLOC. Expert Training Sessions: A training course run by one of us to show others how to undertake certain jobs on the elise. EG How to change brake pads. Provide a donor car where the process of checking, removing, refitting pads can be demonstrated. Any number of things could be covered to help other MLOCers to which they would make a financial contribution to MLOC running (say £10 each person). I'm sure there would be a lot of interest from people keen to learn how to undertake repairs on their car. Any thoughts, especially if there would be anyone willing to give up some time to do these?

Ok, on the verge of chopping her in for a new 111r (the liz that is not the missus!) going through the usual agony of colour choice. Have narrowed it down to Storm Titanium or doing the below....... Forgetting that all S1 drivers think all us S2 drivers are already gay, opinions? Hope this attachment works bit of a numpty with this.........

Hi guys, I'm having a few problems with my clutch on my "98 Punto Sporting. Do these symptoms mean a problem with the clutch or the master cylinder (or both)? Sometimes when it's cold (say after a weekend in the garage) I can't get it into reverse properly - the clutch feels soft and doesn't spring back up, just rises up slowly. When changing gear from third to second at a junction and moving off and bringing the clutch up the car kangaroos away from the junction, even though the revs are at their normal level. Solution is either to stamp on the clutch again or stamp on the accelerator. My handbrake/low brake fluid light flashes every so often as well, e…

Evening! Think very seriously about buying an S2 Exige for 1st March. Only worry I have is that i will be doing a fair number of miles on the road each day (60) and don't want to become complacent with the car, also wondering what its really like on the Motorway. I know I know, not what is for (as the misses keeps telling me) but unfortunately I have to go to work I've had a couple of Elises already so know the downsides of getting in/out, wearing stuff out qucikly etc. Just wondering how the Exige compares when your not on the test drive and not ragging its arse off? Is it soft enough to be liveable as a day to day car? Rich B

Just calling round the usual suspects trying to get a decent deal on the insurance and just wondered what every one else was paying.. I know there are many variations with age of driver and car, location, points, value, cover required.. seems like i'm going to end up shelling out £600ish for the S2 2002 with sp30 2 years ago in a locked garage... what's your thoughts...

Just ringing round to get insurance on my car and was wondering what mods i have to declare. At the moment i tell them about the sports exhaust and the K&N filter.Do i also need to declare the upgraded suspension and wheels? I don't want any come backs if the worse happens. I suppose i've just answered my own question really but would appreciate thoughts/advice anyway.
