Would you better be able, and want to attend an MLOC local/social pub meet on a weekday evening or weekend lunchtime/evening if there were more localised gatherings in the MLOC region. Please don't post any daft answers or use the poll other than a genuine wish to help MLOC gather information about its members and guests needs. Bob <EDIT> Rather than repost to myself. I would like a local social pub gathering, where I could have the pub boozy chatty thing that they have a Notts without a lengthy drive back. I do NOT ever drive boozy, but that means if we do go, I can't have a beer, so no beer = why bother with a pub ? Just one excuse fo…

I'm trying to wash the car properly and there is tar everywhere... what do people recommend for getting the stuff off without damaging the bodywork?

Had the car all of a week and now ned a new screen - rock (no exaggeration!) bounced up of a passing car and hit the screen cracking it from top to bottom. Insurance company pus me straight through to RAC Windscreens who then couldn't find the car in their database so I will have to take it in to the local depo to be changed. Am I being paranoid here expecting them to feck it up? Any other S2Exige owners had to have a new screen? Thanks Rich

Just read the petrol level thread and it made me think of something me and a mate were on about last year. Since i bought my elise i've noticed a bit of variety in how much petrol i can fit in the elise. When i know the car is VERY near empty i've put as much as 42 litres in at some stations but at others (mainly Tesco or other mainstream staions) it's normally 35 to 37. As far as i can remeber the tank on an elise is 35 or 37 liters. Obviously theres got to be some give and take due to filler neck and fuel lines ect.. And not to mention the dodgy stack? Could it be that some stations are conning me out of a couple of quid?? Has anybody else noticed this??…

Storm rang me to test drive the 111R Arrived at Storm, there on the forecourt, nice shiny blue 111R. Got in the drivers seat and drove round the ring road, temp came up and away we can go..... Suspension soft, Steering soft, Gear linkage (long arms needed) Quiet, comfortable as for the good points when you can get it up on the cams it goes but otherwise I thought that the old K series was much better. So the result is I am keeping the old 111 sports tourer. Dave

Took all the advice on here and its off to Horizon on Easter tuesday for an "A" service and a gear linkage kit to be fitted, quite reasonable at £30ish for the linkage and £85 for the "A", i can even hang around as well and wait

Has anyone had the misfortune to have to claim through them? I'm trying to establish if their policy wording is vague for a reason. There seems to be some fuzziness regarding what constitutes external vs internal damage, and the insurer's apparent freedom to pay any amount in the event of a claim.

I've got an Elan SE and have failed the mot on exhaust emissions, I now need to establish what's causing the problem, so have booked it into Storm so they may find out what's happening. I've read your comments on Storm's service and am a bit worried as to whether they'll come up with the answer and stitch me up in the process.

OK, I have taken peoples advice and I'm going to jolly down to Horizon for a service. Dropping it off on the 2nd April & picking it up the following Saturday. Funny, you think you've budgeted for the service when you buy the car - but when it comes around, you still wince at the cost...! Anyhow, I'm also going to get some Toyo T1-Rs as I've heard some good things about them. This is my final safety check though - What do people think of them? and I quite fancy the 225/25 rear & 195/50 front sizes as they are only £20 more than the standard ones. Good idea or not?
