Cleaning Time...

I'm trying to wash the car properly and there is tar everywhere... what do people recommend for getting the stuff off without damaging the bodywork?

put new bodywork on, that's what i do

i always use auto glym polish, n thats good stuff, they do a tar remover, never used it but u cud try that?

Autoglym Tar Remover is the daddy of stain/mark removal. Harsh stuff tho, and ideally requires waxing again once used.

 

Great for removing dead bugs too after a run

If you want to try something non-abrasive use zymol hd-cleanse. You can get it from specialist cars in Malton. Its expensive but very good

It is very good - the swissol stuffs supposed to be good aswell. The zymol wax you can get for around £40 but it'll last for years.

 

I use it because its non abrasive - everyone has their favourite though

But I was actually referring to non-Midland Runs. Been going on runs to Wales, Oxford and Shropshire for many a year now, back in the days of the EVO forum, when I had to put up with Scott Mac and that piece of French tat he used to call a "car" :D

Just a minor point in case folks slip into bad habits:

 

There's no such thing as an "MLOC Run". Strictly speaking they are privately arranged Midlands runs which are referred to on MLOC, SELOC and others. The runs are usually underwritten with Public Liability insurance via the MSA and SELOC's affiliation thereof.
