Being quite new to lotus ownership (Nov 04), is it quite normal for people to stop take a picture of your car, then drive off?. reason i ask it's happened afew times over the last week while the car is parked outside my house. Just a bit paranoid about them being thiefs and they are checking the car out for a later date!!. or is this something that comes with ownership?? Dave

What is the "etiquette" or norm regarding letting people test drive your car if selling privately? I have sold a few previous cars through an ad in the paper or Autotrader, though it's at least 10 years since I have sold anything by private sale this way. Probably showing my age but the last Sports car I sold was an old MG Midget in 1987! At the time with this and any others I sold, I made a quick judgement and if the viewer (s) looked "reasonable", gave them the keys and let them go off on their own, leaving their car with me. When I bought cars privately the same thing happened in reverse. Never had any problems though with hindsight maybe I was lucky. Although…

Hi, I have had my S1 for about 9 months and it is due for its first (in my ownership) service. Looking for recommendations on where to take it- bearing in mind where I am based. Many thanks, Regards, Ian

Hooray If only the weather were better I'd take the Elise out for the birthday blast. Incidentally, it is also Alain Prost's and Dennis Watermans birthdays too (cue Little Britain....)

I've just had a friend ask me what the collective term for a group of Lotuses (Loti?) is.. any suggestions? From recent postings I might suggest an 'Accident' of Lotuses.. Rob

Managed to hit a 2 month old 318Ci Convertible... causing the only damage of breaking the lower part of the bumper (exhaust surroun…

On the way to work this morning and wallop Some bloke in a battered old Mondeo slid straight across the road in front of us on a tight bend and left me nowhere to go except into the side of him(friggin snow). Both of us got out and he was f...ing enormous(gulp).Anyway he was very appologetic (sp) and seemed like a reasonable kind of bloke which was a result as i didn't have my running shoes on and i fight like a girl The upside of this story is that i wasn't in the Lotus but in the other half's Renault Scenic. So all in all an eventfull journey to work.

Thinking of doing a few days in Scotland after Easter. Anyone done this in an Elise (Steve and Fiona, I seem to remember you did this recently)? I'm interested in any ideas for routes, accomodation etc. Only stipulation is the usual great views and nice cosy hotels.... Thoughts peeps?

I'm thinking of taking my Elise abroad for the first time this summer. Has anyone done it, or got any good ideas of where to go? I also think I will need a luggage rack for the back as my girlfriend will be coming and she dosen't exactly travel light. Anyone know how much they are and will the Lotus Show at Donnington Park be a good place to get one? Finally, I need some form of GB identification for the car (don't want the standard black on white sticker). Anyone know if Lotus do anything for this? Thanks Richard.

Took my mate to pick his porsche 993TT up from being serviced/upgraded at the weekend. He'd had new sports suspension fitted so we went for a good blast in the two cars to test it out. I don't tend to push too hard on the public road but at sensible b road speeds there really wasn't much in it. And it wasn't as if he wasn't trying - a second gear 4 wheel wheelspin out of a slow corner and tarmac being thrown at me gave that away. Having been a passenger in the porsche at bruntingthorpe i knew that it was very fast down the straight (174mph) but it also handles very well and the traction from the 4 wheel drive is amasing. But on real roads it really didn't m…
