Anyone know of the Lotus Drivers Club that meets at Arrow Mill Hotel, Arrow, Alcester on the 2nd Thursday each month? www.lotusdriversclub.org Who goes there? What happens? etc? I went to a meeting once somewhere near Alcester a few years ago and some very nice man was giving a talk about ECB Green Stuff and other break related stuff... The Only problem was he had a twenty minute talk which was stretched out for over an hour... My good lady passenger nearly killed me for that, because I ordered a meal not knowing about the talk and ended up eating during it.. My partner wouldn't eat in front of other people and she was stuck there... I enjoyed the foo…

well, a little too close for the dog I smacked into Coming home from the gym last night, short drive home, a medium size dog runs out in front of me. Slams on the anchors, wheels lock up and skid into the mutt at about 20mph. Hear a big "thud" then a whimper coming from under my front left wheel. Thinking I was ontop of him, I tried to get the engine started, then I saw him run off. Some nice bloke in a CTR coming the other way stopped to help chase after it. Although he did say he was more concerned about me swerving into him But the dog seemed ok. Was running fine, but I should imagine he had a sore head! Wouldn't let us get anywhere near him, but he s…

Hi there! I'm hopefully going to be a proud owner of an Elise in the near future! I've driven a couple and found one I like in Nottingham. I'm now after a Lotus garage/specialist in the local area to have the oily bits checked over. I've used the search function and found most people recommend a trip to Brum and Horizon, but that looks like a fair old trip to ask the current owner and myself to make. Has anyone found another suitable garage a bit closer? I've driven a 1997 R standard with 47k miles, and this felt very planted and 'tight' on the back roads which included some good corners, but was really showing it's age wrt wear and tear on the inside and o…

Finally sorted out our car stuff this weekend and Chris' Elise is finally mine and his new Beastie is on its way tomorrow. So now we'll have two Elises and an MR2 on the drive........... (anyone want an MR2?!)...........how smug do we feel? My grin still hasn't subsided since my drive into work today, my first domestic drive in the Elise, as it's a 200 mile round trip and a bit of an extravagance when I have a perfectly good Mk3 MR2 to do the motorway munching. Chris' sense of anticipation for his new purchase, however, is something else to witness! Can't wait till the Feb Run....... Yours, grinning like an idiot, Sonya

OK, So I've been off work since monday with the lurgy (my left ear is still bunged up) and today I started to feel a bit more human... So, not wanting to lounge about all day, and actually get outside a bit - I decided to remove the hardtop and put the softtop in place. A bit early maybe, but it was actually a bit sunny this afternoon. Once done of course, the urge hit me... went for a blat out towards Donington with the top down. 'Refreshing' is one way to describe it! I can heartily recommend doing this to clear any congestion in the old sinuses. Only drawback is that I'm probably ok to go into work tomorrow...

Anyone here been on the Dover to Boulogne Speedferry? I was wondering if there was any ground clearance issue with this ferry? If so were they able to help?.... Been on other ferries some good and some not so good... The reason I ask is because on my Exige I have a front splitter which isn't helpfull with ramps Etc.... Less of an issue with an Elise I think.

Didn't want to hijack the other thread, but seeing as there are so many among us I just had to ask for advice. I'm not an architect, but close....(ish) I'm the senior design engineer at The Eliott Group, and spend most of my time designing modular buildings - some on an epic scale! Currently working on a 193 flat building and also our new corporate HQ. I work with autocad, mainly in 3D. I'm after a software package that provides presentation style rendered images from a AutoCAD 3D model. Also, whats the best way to produce 'Walk throughs' and the best software package? Many thanks Simon

I'm sure everyone gets the normal comments from kids that i get when your sat at traffic lights or getting in the car. "how fast does it go" ... "wicked car mate" etc but today a kid about 10 years old with his mum holding his hand said the most amusing thing. "ahh mate, I bet you pull the birds in that, I need to get myself one of those." to which I couldn't stop my self laughing, I looked up to find his mum wipping her eyes she was laughing so much. That kid is going to be a player when he's older !!!
