Has anyone had the misfortune to have to claim through them?

 

I'm trying to establish if their policy wording is vague for a reason.

 

There seems to be some fuzziness regarding what constitutes external vs internal damage, and the insurer's apparent freedom to pay any amount in the event of a claim.

MORIS (Everitt Boles) have responded with some clarification which is more re-assuring, so their quote of £90 and £850 excess looks pretty competitive.

 

'The impact damage covers the whole car (shell, suspensions etc.) including the externals of the engine and gearbox. The wording is not entirely clear so I will get it amended to read :

 

'Accident damage (i.e. impact) to the car – including the externals of the engine and gearbox - only whilst engaged in the specified track day activity.'

 

With regards to the amount paid out for a claim, this will be for the market value – as full settlement.
