Martin R Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Nice work, who owns the acid bath then to clean the ally? PM if you like.
jonnyfox Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 That's a picture sent to me by Badger Anodising in Birmingham. Top man, he's done quite a bit for me. The aluminium is generally arriving scratched from my fabricator being cut from off cuts (no qty). Much like the divider due to general wear needs to be sanded so I use a 180/240 followed by a 500/400. He can strip but there's no point unless the prep work is done as the new coating will still highlight all the imperfections. Basically the material needs to be perfect before anodising. He can however bead blast and polish on site buddy. He did my uprights earlier in this thread.
jonnyfox Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 Made a start on the headlights. I bought new lenses, springs, clips and nylon wing nuts off EP. Rubbers and seals were fine. So new headlights, indicator lenses and badge. I have the blackouts vinyls on order with load of other gear from DeRoure.
The Cakes Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I wouldn't want to ask what this has cost but I'm sure it's worth every penny and more! I wouldn't want to drive it, think I'd put it the living room and polish it daily. Brilliant!
jonnyfox Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 :-) I may have gone a bit OTT. It's not been too bad though getting most stuff done locally. Engine, paint and dampers are where the cost lies.
DeanB Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Jonny it all looks fantastic. I can't wait to see it when it's built.
kieranexige Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Stunning Jonny, absolutely proper job. Fantastic to see.

jonnyfox Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 You can drive it Jody ;-) but I think you'd prefer 20mins in the R300 which you are more than welcome too!Edit: Lights are fine. Image changed above. Now it looks as Panda cool as Jody's
Phil S1 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Panda eyes look great to me Jonny... and the lights look better aligned now too. Top work!
