Drove down south on Monday, and back up in the evening. Ferraris everywhere? I counted at least 15! Must have been some sort of meet somewhere

http://www.evoposters.net/carsa/album158 Picked it up off Ladders this afternoon (cheers!) and gave it a good clean Looks and goes well considering the clocks showing 180k, this is German engineering at its best - its as old as I am (almost...)! Although I forgot to ask you how to open the boot...considering its got no locks! Which means the Elise can go back up for sale now Time to start re-advertising!

Hi everyone! There must be something in the air - a third new joiner to MLOC! I bought my S2 111s on Friday from Williams down in Bristol and spent most of the weekend getting to know her on the country lanes around Notts... fantastic and totally addictive! I'm a bit gutted that I missed the meet yesterday. Is there another one coming up soon? I'd love to come along and meet up with fellow Lotus nuts!

Just got the S1 back from Horizons on Saturday after having a C service, new T1-Rs and a decat pipe putting on... First impressions - my god its so much louder! Lots of shell suited types turning their heads as I drove down the high street in Cradley Heath. The breaks still squeak though - so I'm open to suggestions as to what to do about that. The biggy was what happened this morning (Sunday). I was driving down the road about .5 mile from my house when I could smell some serious burning plastic. I stopped after I noticed a hugh cloud of smoke coming from the engine vents behind me. Upon opening the bonnet, I noticed a missing oil filler cap - closer insp…

Hey, just thought Id say hello and introduce myself; I was directed here by a guy called Dunc from the pistonheads website My names Ben, I live in the middle of Leicester, and Im a design consultant (sounds like an intro line for blind date or something!) Im now totally bored with "normal" cars (went from nuts to normal, now looking to "go lotus" ) I have promised myself an S1 since I saw the prototype at a motorshow all those years ago, and the press were slating it as ugly (soon changed their tune when they drove it!) This summer I am going to bite the bullet and treat myself.. Would dearly love a metalic blue one with yellow (dont think I can spell beige)…

Right guys, its gloves off time. Thinking of changing my S1 soon and am starting to look around . First thoughts are S1 111s, however getting one with low miles and good condition is difficult (plus not sure if i can cope with another S1, getting old and stiff). So then thought S2 111s but IMHO they are quite pricey still and dont perform that differently to a VX 220 (especially one that has been chipped). I have read through the threads and i understand lack of herritage etc with Vx's but is that enough to make me spend another 5K + difference on a loti. Went to Vaux dealer today they have an 52 plate VX with all added extras plus DVD Sat nav system and hard top, …

Rover Cars 1 2

Having recently worked at Rover cars for 23 years and living 5 mins from the Rover plant at longbridge im gutted by the news tonight that they have virtually ceased trading. I have literally dozens of friends still there. The talk of a 200 million hole in there pension fund and the fact most of them will become unemployed in the near future is mind boggling. Im torn between anger at the 30 years of total mismanagment and lack of investment, and sorrow for the hard working men who deserve better. The manufacturing industry in this country is now dead IMO

Hi MLOC I'm new to the adictive world of Lotus Elises and I'm looking for some help. I'm considering buying a S2 111s I've found http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=39988&s=12 however it's been regitered as cat D after an accident in Oct 03. The current owner was not responsible for the damage but sais it has been proffesionally reparied by the last owner himself (not at a specialist). It's last service was done by AW Automotive a lotus specialist in Burnley (who don't seem to exist). The guy selling the car seems genuine and if it was panel damage only I'm happy to purchase at the right price. Does anyone have any advice and has anyone heard of …

Went to the Launch of the new Jaguar XKR (called ALC at the moment) at the Science Museum in london on friday. Had an excellent evening and the car is stunning. What made the evening even better was chatting to Julian Thompson for about 15 mins. (head of Jaguar Design) but more importantly was head of design at Lotus for the Elise. What a great guy and really interesting to talk to. We also chatted about the new Xk chassis design etc being very similar to the Elise (wonder where that idea came from !!) and he says that the new car will be a real drivers car (but he said it won't replace the lotus - but will be pretty good for a normal car) meaning the lotus i…

Anyone who's got a road angel 2 has got a little sticky rubber magnet that attaches it to the dashboard. I'm after another one, or something I can use instead of one. I went to the Road Angel website, and including postage its going to cost me £15.95 for one! Bugger that, its only small thing. So, does anyone know of any sites that sell cheap magnets? Or if anyone with a Road Angel has a spare they don't use or want...? Rob
