Bit of a random one, My bro is a biker and is about to buy a GSXR Apparently, current thinking in biking circles is to rag the crap out of a new bike, in the first few hundred miles, to to achieve a superior piston ring seal? This sounded like a bit of a no-no until I read the attached article, which apparently applies to any 4 stroke engine. It seems to make sense? Anybody have any thoughts on this or do we all follow the softly softly approach? Cheers Dunc breaking_in.doc

There I was with a nice lowered driveway - council had ripped me off for £500 to do it, but at least it was done. I get home last night to find some poxy subcontractor (AMEC I think) has dug holes all the way through it and left it in an unfinished state, so I couldn't get to my drive. There is a big gouge out of the tarmac too. No notification about it happening or anything. I rang the council and they are basically fobbing me off... argh!!! Rob

Some of you may remember my incident in September where i was accused of jumping a traffic light. Certain folks said just accept it (Graeme ) however i knew i hadn't done it, so following some advice from a couple of very useful folk on SELOC i decided to defend myself in court. Verdict - Not Guilty I was well chuffed to say the least!!!

Alhtough its not often I have the stereo on I am a big lover of music and the one I have, or more so the speakers are crap. Its a four speaker set up with diddy Alpines in the front (I have an S2 just to clear that up) and some 'not knowns' in the rear behind the seats. Basically they handle about as much volume as a comb and tissue. I've been looking at compact sub units that I can put in line and remove when it suits me. Any ideas or tips? Cheers Dunk

Had the Exige S2 for 8 monthes now and done approx 3k miles and several runs, but when polishing the car tonight noticed 1 million stone chips. whats the solution to stop this getting any worse? does armourfend really work and how much does it cost as it may be worth applying after a respray at the end of this season.

Don't know about you lot, but I took advantage of the clear sky, still air and dry roads to go for a blast in the dusk this evening with the roof off and it was fantastic! Hardly a car on the road and I've discovered this great little "circuit" near me which is approximately a five mile quadrangle of roads with no villages, national speed limit all the way and filled with some really sharp 90 degree bends and one or two humungous straights! Not being absolutely stupid of course, but I went around it three times Felt great when I got back - had a headache all day and it's gone now. I love nights like this

Colleague has inadvertantly reversed into rear wheelarch, cracking the clam. Shit. Probably doing privately unless it is a new clam (which I will press for - don't actually think it will be repairable). Who in the midlands would you recommend???
