After a shortish queue to get in (30 mins I reckon) Miles and I arrived to see the awesome* MLOC display in the owners clubs area. MLOC outshone the rest of the clubs by a huge proportion, it was amazing. I really take my hat off to those that organised it, it really was impressive. The factory tour was fantastic too, pity I was unable to fit a spoiler and some side pods under my t-shirt. All in all a really nice day out and nice to see some familiar faces, sorry we missed a fair chunk of the MLOC lot as I believe your traffic jam was a little worse than ours. Jo, if you wonder who the ginger idiot was hanging out of the dark blue golf on the way home, that wa…

MLOC Photoshoot Event What a great response for our event! Please find below information for our Photoshoot on Saturday. As you can imagine, getting 50-60 cars and people into inch-perfect formation for one single helicopter lift is quite a challenge, so we will be providing you with instructions and stewards will be directing you on the day. Above all, enjoy it. This is possibly the biggest MLOC meet ever and for a very good cause! A finished photo will be available soon for you to download with your name and car included. We will also be using the images for publicity, flyers, and our Lotus 60th Anniversary exhibition so you and your car will become a little…

It is great to read such good reviews of our MLOC stand at the Lotus 60th Anniversary celebrations, both on this forum and on others. We should all be very proud of how our club has been portrayed and the envy with which our stand was eyed! For a club that charges no membership fees and therefore has limited budget for events such as these, we work solely on goodwill and favours, so we did ourselves proud. Even the photoshoot earlier this summer, which was a deliberate precursor to this weekend, was a massive event, so it demonstrates the support the club has from its members. Thanks to you all for your great comments about me and my "secret weapon" organisation s…

For those of you who have not read about the 60th Anniversary celebrations yet, see details here As with last year's 40th celebration, I'm planning a convoy coming across from Worcestershire picking up people along the way. For those who are planning to travel over on the Sunday morning and wish to join in, please add your name and location to the ticker below. Last year we had several pick-up points and ended up with about 15 cars; as well as a couple of other Loti who just joined us enroute. If you would like to join in, I can get a list of your locations and the put together some safe pick up points along the route. It would be nice to get more in the convo…

Please add you names to this ticker (also add where you will be staying when you have booked and which convoy you will be joining, when all that is organised). Also, if you haven't already got one, get yourself a free MLOC sticker to put in your rear window, lets see how many we can get in the car park! Get your free sticker here; http://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=218 1. Sonya 2. Dobbo 3.

We have the chance to show 3 cars at our exhibit. They will be entered into a Lotus 'Best in Show' competition, quite a presigious prize, should one of our cars win it. I am trying to locate some large Alu car stands, like those in use in showrooms to make it a bit more of an exibit. We wouldn't expect the cars to be in concourse condition, but a bit of spit and polish wouldn't go amiss! We need to select three of our club's cars and this thread is where we will choose the lucky three. Nominations should be posted here and we may even run a poll for the top selection to decide the finalists. Please add to the ticker.... Suggestions so far are; 1. T-Series - Ph…

Lizs Mom and Dad have a cottage approx 1 hours drive from Hethel. They have now said we can use it for the weekend. We are therefore thinking of having a MLOC BBQ on the Saturday of the 60th weekend. All the MLOC are of course invited. We will sort out the logistics nearer the time. There is enough room for people to 1) pitch a tent in the garden 2) Use a airbed and a sleeping bag inside. Could we start a ticker to see if there is any interest ? We will PM details etc if there is. I dont wish to publish the address etc on a public forum 1) Martin and Liz.

We have a plot of 12m x 9m and have very kindly been lent a full size professional marquee and transport for the event (thanks Howard). Now we need to fill it with stuff which best shows off MLOC and provides a great base for all you lot to meet and mingle! I have plenty of ideas to get us rolling but would like you lot to suggest more, help source or produce materials/equipment and be willing volunteers for the weekend to help set up and break down our exhibition. I am based in Derby and can provide storage for our bits and pieces. My initial ideas are as follows and up for debate (green means confirmed as donated); Equipment; Marquee Tether anchors; cement bl…
