JonS
For those of you who have not read about the 60th Anniversary celebrations yet, see details here As with last year's 40th celebration, I'm planning a convoy coming across from Worcestershire picking up people along the way. For those who are planning to travel over on the Sunday morning and wish to join in, please add your name and location to the ticker below. Last year we had several pick-up points and ended up with about 15 cars; as well as a couple of other Loti who just joined us enroute. If you would like to join in, I can get a list of your locations and the put together some safe pick up points along the route. It would be nice to get more in the convoy this year if possible, it was a great feeling being part of a big convoy leading the cars 'home', it gets the day off to a great start and really shows the Lotus family feel we have. Anyway, to the ticker; sign below if you fancy joining in. I look forward to seeing you all at some point enroute. Cheers, Jon *** UPDATED TICKER & PICK-UP POINTS *** *** UPDATED TICKER SEPTEMBER 12TH *** Pick-Up Point List This is the latest convoy map with pick-ups located: Clicky! I think you'll be the closest for me to follow up !! A pick up point south of brum would help with anyone south mids. For example Hopwood Park services. JonS
Right... I've put together an initial thought on the route and pick up points en route. So far I have pick ups at: A. Kidderminster (My house lol!) B. Hopwood Park Services, M42 C. Corley Services, M6 D1. A14 option 1 - This layby D2. A14 option 2 - This layby We used this one last year and worked ok. E. Thrapston services, A14 junction with A45 & A605 F. Currently I haven't got a pick-up around Cambridge. Can any suggest a good spot to collect a few more cars? If you would like to add your opinions and also where you would like to be picked up from. This is map as it stands: Clicky Cheers, Jon Ticker: Point A Kidderminster 1. JonS Point B Hopwood Park 1. Deleted_User
Traveling from the north Jon I guess it makes sense for our group to meet up at point 'C' (Corley Services) The North Staffs group will be meeting up Britannia Stadium front car park, I'll keep my eye on this thread and post a meeting time when we have a rough idea of what time we need to meet up with you. Ticker: Point A Kidderminster 1. JonS Point B Hopwood Park 1. Point C Corley Services 1. Scott (North Staffs group) Point D A14 1. Point E Cambridge (exact location tbc) 1. fentuz
Coming from Yorkshire/NorthDerbyshire, I can meet : A) Chesterfield B) Close to M1 J28 (if Phill S1 has a place to suggest) C) can do Donington service station (even if it is close to point B) C')Leicester Area (Dave, any suggestions???) And meet other convoys at point D (see JonS'post) This is a trip down to the M1... A1 may be a better choice ??? Jon, Scott, When convoys meeting points are set upp, would it not be a good idea to shetck convoys routes on a map? something in a similar fashion as a bus map? I can try to do something.
