It's the classic which could be more difficult. What about Neil F's Elan plus 2 or there was the Europa on the MLOC calendar, although I'm not sure that belongs too?

Well it wont be the MLOC 2005 Le Mans 1p per mile sponsorship car - the Excel aka Silver Tardis ....

It change hands today .....

Sadly ...

:) Bad news indeed. Although on the bright side it did give one or two of the usual suspects a great deal of pleasure with very little bother  Hope its gone to a good home Bob.

A couple more to throw in. Dr H,s 340r and Keifs Lotus Carlton. A suggestion, shall we have a ticker of cars / people available for Saturday and Sunday as this is required for the show cars. Then have a MLOC poll to decide the cars as is the normal MLOC democratic way.

I've gathered the suggestions to continue the ticker from the first post, how's this?

  1. T-Series conversion - Phil S
  2. Elan M100 (Rare Blue) - EMK/Liz/Mrs MartinR
  3. Elan M100 (BRG) - JonS’s Dad's
  4. Elan plus 2 - Neil F's
  5. Europa on the MLOC calendar - Whose was this?
  6. MLOC sponsored LOT car - ChrisH
  7. 340r - Dr H
  8. Lotus Carlton - Keif

Can all those mentioned let us know if they are happy to be nominated and if they are able to attend on the Saturday and Sunday? As suggested we'll get a nice long list and then do a poll thoughout August! Winners will be announced end of August...

Not sure what the prize is from Lotus for Best in Show, I'll find out - may just be a load of back slapping and the pride factor!

Phil, congratulations and hope you have as fantastic a few days as we did for our wedding. Huge shame you can't be there though as you were our odds-on favourite for winning the poll!

In the unlikely event that you don't lend us your car, please can we do a feature on your conversion on one of our displays? It would be great to have some photographs and a few notes on how long it took, it's specification, main issues to overcome and how you did so, the end product and what it produces and tips for anyone considering the eame etc. I can produce it all for you if you wish, if you can provide me with the details and some photos by email?

What do you think?

My car? But that mean actually having to get it out of the garage :rifle:

Yep, Sonya has a point here. The T conversion is good project to mention.

Perhaps it would be interesting to select some other projects and display them on a A3 Poster? what do you think?

Cheers guys. If you really want the car there I'm sure we can sort something? Thing is although its got a big ole rover turbo in the back its not a concours car dont forget. Its clean and that but I dont polish the undertrays every weekend if you know what I mean!!

Great. Don't know what others think but with the type of conversion it will still generate a lot of interest. Besides I guess you arent planning to use it for concourse, so it is designed for purpose?

Phil, that's not an issue at all - concours condition is not the point of that car so it really doesn't matter if you can't see your reflection in the brake discs! I'm already trying to get hold of trailer transport for another one of our possible exhibit cars, so not sure we can find another trailer for yours, would you be willing to hand the keys over to another driver? If so please can all you lot think about how we can find another driver and we'll see if Phil can  trust another driver with his latest project! If not, a photgraphic display would go some way to doing it justice.

I've just started to think about our display content. We will have three tall columns (oh-err) of display boards and plenty of marquee wall for display. I was thinking three areas; Racing/Sprinting, Events and Runs, Projects and Conversions.

If any of you know about good examples for these areas, please make it known and we can start to gather images and notes for display. The biggest issue I have at the moment is no one is coming forward to help with printing/display production - anyone know any printers who could do us a favour for a small payment?

We had some great entries for last years calander comp (and some good ones for this years too), it might be good to do a bit of a collage?

Deffo OK with trailering Fiona but another driver hmm. Not that I wouldnt trust them but if anything happened to it its a tricky one :) . More to the point a trip to hethel will probably be the longest journey it will have been on with the new set up so I'd have to be 100% sure it was reliable enough

You guys going over on the Friday or Saturday morning?

Posted

Guys and girls, really humbled that you've suggested my Lotus Carlton to be on the MLOC stand for this.

I've checked every permitation, tried to change exsisting plans, but unfortunatly there's no chance of me getting there on Saturday afternoon due to the boss not finishing work until 2pm (it's at least 3hours to Hethel).

I do plan on going on the Sunday, but i doubt i'll be in the Carlton anyway. (could be talkied into it tho)

Personally i think the MLOC sponsored LOT car should be on the stand, just to show how serious we take track days etc. plus two others that show the cross section of cars on here.

Once again, Thanks, and i'm really Sorry i won't be able to show the LC off at the Lotus Factory again.
