Code of conduct
Code of Conduct for MLOC
1. Respect and Courtesy All members are expected to conduct themselves with the highest levels of respect and courtesy during any club-related activity, whether online or offline. This expectation extends to interactions with both fellow members and non-members. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all participants can enjoy their shared passion for cars without discrimination or discomfort.
2. Professional and Ethical Conduct Members must avoid any actions or behaviors that could potentially harm the reputation of the club or its operations. This includes, but is not limited to, refraining from illegal activities, upholding the club's integrity, and avoiding any engagements that might reflect negatively on the club or its community.
3. Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Policy We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful community. As such, discrimination, harassment, or any other behavior that undermines the dignity or self-esteem of an individual will not be tolerated. This applies to but is not limited to discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, or any other legally protected characteristic.
4. Enforcement of Code of Conduct Violations of these guidelines may result in actions taken by the administration team, including but not limited to warnings, suspension of membership privileges, or expulsion from the club, depending on the severity of the misconduct.
5. Reporting and Grievance Procedures Members are encouraged to report any incidents where they feel these principles have been breached. Reports can be made confidentially to the designated officers, and every complaint will be investigated thoroughly and impartially. We are committed to ensuring fairness and respect for all parties involved.

The little quiet lad that used to sit in his booster seat in my car on welsh runs, who became a teenager on the Peaks blasts and LITP, is now a 19 yr old working lad !! He also seems to have developed a love for cars from somewhere, and after passing his test at 17 has swopped from a polo to an alfa guietta to a mini cooper D and a weekend MX5. Apart from the insurance killing him, he has worked and paid for it all himself. His goal from all this car swopping, which he manages to make some money on each time by, repairing improving, cleaning updating and then good marketing etc. was an S1 Elise. I am hoping any current, and previous ,S1 owners mi…

Brazen request for sponsorship ahead !!! This isn’t for me, but my brother-in-law, Martin. Some of you will have met him at mine and Sonya's wedding, or one of our BBQs. Martin is doing an absolutely bonkers bike ride to raise funds for the two charities above. Dementia (from which his dad died) and Motor Neurone Disease (from which my mum died) are both devastating diseases. As he’s married to my sister, he was also affected by both of these diseases in quick succession - the two deaths were within 4months of each other. Both MND and Dementia are largely untreatable, and with the current prospect of certain, undignified, death. The nature of either …

I was travelling towards Hinckley on the A5 this afternoon at around 2pm when we came across an accident involving an S1 Elise. There were multiple vehicles involved, it looked as if emergency services were cutting the driver out. There was a black S1 Exige also parked at the seen. If it’s anyone from here I hope all involved are ok.

Just drifting down one of those internet worm holes (no tractor links for me !) as I didn’t realise the S1 wasn’t Road legal in the USA . But that after 25 years they become exempt. Is that correct ? . I wonder if many will be snapped up stateside and if they will get converted etc . I also stumbled across quite possibly the worst article ever to describe the Elise ….god bless America https://www.hotcars.com/here-is-why-the-lotus-elise-series-1-is-illegal-in-the-us/amp/

It’s come the time to replace my tyres on the Elise 111r. At the moment it has the LTS stamped Yokohama on it. The fronts are 175 55 16. Is it possible to put a wider tyre on the standard rims? What are other members recommending as replacement tyres ? Also where is the best place to get them from.

At the grand age of 51 years, my dream garage extension is almost complete. Still need to spot repair the concrete floor, then paint it and the ceiling. My 2008 S Elise, 1999 Type 49 Elise and 1970 VW camper (which is going up for sale soon) now have a warm, dry and lit home

an interesting thing, Team Classic Lotus are taking over Paul Matty's Lotus parts Business Quote from Clive Chapman Recently Paul made it known that he had decided to retire from the classic Lotus road car parts supply business. For some time, Classic Team Lotus has been considering extending its parts service, so this opportunity was well timed, accelerating our ambition into reality. We now have the enviable task of relocating the Paul Matty ‘Lotus Treasure’ to Hethel; getting things organised then continuing to offer this vital support to customers to help them keep their wonderful cars on the road. Clive Chapman comments: ‘I have enjoyed …

Back in the early days of Mloc we used to have a busy events calendar particularly in relation to runs or touring assemblies as they had to be known. These days with the exception of the most excellent Lotus in the Peak event(which I'm particularly disappointed to be missing this year for the first time) it seems the social calendar has waned a little, covid has obviously played its part and I'm sure any of the organisers of the Peaks event can convey just how much work and effort goes into organising these things, plus with busy lives perhaps the downturn is no surprise. Having bought my first Lotus back in 1998 despite all of the trials a tribulations the ownership…
