Morning Chaps! I've got about 5 hours free tomorrow and the wife would like to go somewhere, I just can't think of somewhere nice to head to! - We're based in Stratford and have done Broadway, Bourton, Stow, Moreton to death! Ideally an hour from Stratford so we can have three hours there and then come back within the five hour window. any suggestions?

Following the perhaps over-successful marketing of the NorthCoast500, various other areas of the country are popping up with their own versions of long distance touring drives. Spotted this new one on a recent visit to Wales (sadly not in Elise!). Great roads, coastal and mountain views, towns, watering holes etc and it’s supported by Lotus as Official Drive Partner!! www.snowdonia360.com

As my holiday is of course cancelled I'm hoping to have a couple of days out in the Lotus - I'd like to see the sea! Anyone done the A52 route to Skegness in a Lotus? I've not been that way much for a long time and dont whether its a good route. Normally I'd head off to Wales but it appears thats still a no go area.....

It’s a long time since I’ve posted in this section, but here goes. As my Lotus is under repair at the moment we had no choice but to use my Father In Laws Jaguar F Type Coupe to get to Francorchamps. It’s an utterly effortless cruising machine, as sadly we were just intent on getting here as quickly as possible, so just did motorways. Walking around on the Friday (arrivals and early practise day), I saw lots of interesting cars in the paddock and please forgive me for focusing on our marque. Here you go... A very used Lotus XI... I like the patina! Lotus 26R An Elite So pretty and beauti…

So for 3 years the son and heir has been badgering me to do a euro trip to include reims, milieu bridge, stelvio or similar and some big tunnels. Want to do it a little "wild" with a tent in the boot for impromptu camping but also think a comfy bed might appeal after 2/3 days hard driving. does anyone have a route or any experiences to share on trips they have done. is it feasible to do all this in 4 days on foreign soil ? Cheers Richbk

Well yes, finally - after having the Elise for nearly twenty years it's time for the 'pilgrimage' ! Early September because the schools will be back. I'm taking my S1 to Stelvio, but also interesting in other driving roads / passes in the area. There are many online recommendations but I'm always more interested in personal anecdotes. Online guides list so many "must drives" I'd be there until the snows came in Quite like the idea of continuing on to Slovenia and checking out the Mangart Saddle - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mangart_Saddle Someone mentioned Mondsee area of Austria on another thread, quite like that because I worked in southern Germany many y…

Playing a game of pin the tail on the donkey with a map of Europe, and I'm thinking of completing the Top Gear trinity, I've done Stelvio and the Trollstiggen so .... ..that just leaves the Transfagarasan Highway. Rough planning stages but Hull ferry over to Rotterdam, then down through Germany into Austria. Vienna is on the bucket list before heading off to Budapest. Down from here to the start of the 150km long road, on the way to Bucharest. Ideally I'd like to get as far as the black sea, before heading back through some more of the Balkans. Any tips?

I've been wanting to drive around Norway for quite some time now, and so finally this year I've managed to keep hold of a two week gap to make the most of such a trip. Will get to really test my Probax seat re-upholstring. Obviously with Simon Mac's recent voyage, this is something that at least one of us has recent experience of... though I don't have the aim for getting to the arctic circle! Here is the route I have planned at the moment. I'm just looking at whether I can do the Stockholm segment as I looked more into road speeds and it is going to take me longer to get from point to point than I first thought as a lot of the areas of Norway I'll be visiting have lo…

Have been posting on Seloc since buying my first Lotus and figured i should start posting on a board that is probably more local to me Also attended a Lotus Drivers Club meeting which is held close to me and got to meet some really friendly people so will hopefully be attending more of these. First proper trip and chance to spend some real time with it since picking it up beginning of june. Started down the M'Way to shrewsbury. Stopped for a bite to eat there and then started up to Oswestry and turning down the B4396 onto the B4391 after many suggestions to try this road. Stopped for some photos of the car. Stopped at the Royal Oak in Betws y Coed which had be…

Newbie here with what's seems a stupid question. Anyone suggest any exige friendly multi-storey car parks in Birmingham? Don't want to get half way up before dragging the car back down each level on the front splitter. Dan
