I was disappointed to miss it but I just wouldn't have made it. It took me till about 2pm to get all the bodywork bolted on properly, the wheel arch liners fitted, boot lid back on etc etc.

Also, the iacv wasn't working so it was ticking over at 2k when hot (as you can hear at the start of the vid). I went over and got another revision to the map uploaded tonight and now it ticks over nicely at 1000rpm as it should. There's still loads of work to do on the map though because its a brand new ecu and there is loads of base data missing that we need to come up with ourselves.

Sweet! How's the paint holding up?

Dan could you take me a pic at night with side lights on and another with brake lights on?

Might just convince me to switch my rear lights round!

Its holding up well, there's a few areas that need touching up that have been scuffed or scratched from the amount of times i've had the rear clam on and off over the last week, but its fine apart from that.

I'll take some more pics soon :)

We've spent the morning playing around with ignition timing, cam timing and vtec point and the final result is 222.1hp (the .1 is important) at 8050rpm and 151lb ft at 6500ish (I don't quite remember).

We've also put another 500rpm on the rev limiter which was set at 8200rpm. It only drops 5 or so hp from 8000 to 8700, but the difference in the curve where it drops back in after each gearchange is massive, somewhere in the region of 20hp, so it feels a lot quicker now.

We did probably 15 runs that were within 1hp whilst playing about with various things.

As a reference, a standard UK EP3 type R makes 187hp on this particular rolling road...so its 35hp up on a standard engine.

That looks and sounds awesome Dan! Still looking forward to seeing it in the flesh :)

Well it's been a while, so it's time for a little update :)

I retrimmed my (green) scabby sill pads with some black alcantara I had lying around, looks much neater now.

Fitted a drivers harness, the very same harness that was fitted to the old stealth beast that Steff now owns again....thanks Steff :)

The seats are temporary and will ultimately be replaced with something a little more supportive with harness slots.

Then I went all sensible and installed a boot!

So it really is a practical family car now, as long as you're single like me.

I've done a few miles over the last couple of months and no issues at all, even managed 37mpg on a run back from Liverpool.

I took part in a charity sports car run not long ago which included some parade laps of Castle Combe, sadly they were only carried out at 60mph behind a pace car....but the car felt very much at home so I look forward to a proper track day soon.

I see you camera man...

I can't imagine ever getting tired of this car, its so flexible. It's as happy cruising along at 1000rpm in 6th as it is pulling 8700rpm in 5th

It's in bad taste possibly.........Is that Ronnie Wood in the passenger seat?

Car looks great Dan, you must be very proud of that achievement.
