Honda Engine Elise Build

Jonny surely now it's time to junk your brake servo and abs!

Losing 15 kilos from the engine sounds good. I am guessing a big chunk of that is flywheel, and some more from steel crank and rods?

Love ABS. Engine is a reliable build, proven in fact but anything else pushes the envelope and I'm not interested in deviating from the plan. Have a lighter flywheel and rods already, crank is just something else to go wrong. Maybe a bag tank, new front clam. Lol sorry Dan off topic, I'll ave ya and Dean too ;-)

Hi,

Just a quick Q I noticed you mentioned you had put a k20z engine in out of the later FN2 CTR, did you change anything apart from the TB? Ie sensors etc

Thanks Chris

Hi,

Yes I changed the oil pump, sump, machined the cradle and blocked up oil returns in order to fit the shallower sump from the earlier car and delete the balance shafts.

Sensors all remain though.

I believe so yes, mine was basically a prototype for a production version.

With the ecu I'm using its a proper plug and play solution.

You won't be disappointed I'm sure, it's an awesome tool.

Finally had some driveshafts made so I've been building them up tonight, they're made from top spec material so should last a lifetime...also got the speedo ring on so I'll finally know how fast I'm going, which is nice.

I feel I've I've reached a bit of a milestone today, now that my driveshafts are fitted and the speedo works it feels like the car is 'finished'.

It'll never really be finished, but stage 1 is certainly complete.
