Here: http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=17864 Seems to suggest that CRP's can actually *reduce* power? Assumingly due to the loss of backpressure (especially on the VVC) Also claims that Sports CAT's have a small increase power over the CRP, whilst still having the noise and being road-legal... Edited to say...this should really be in "technical" if Beefcake (or another mod person) can move it...

Although I find the ride of the suspension fine, I fancy lowering the car to fill the arches! Has anyone tried both set ups? If they are about the same then paying nearly twice as much for Nitrons seams a waste in my case? Any advice please! Dave

Could any one out there tell me how hard it is to fit a new trophy throttle body. Is it a straight forward job to do like an induction airfilter? Or should i get someone who knows what there doing to fit it?

...get loads of dead flies, debris and general crap on the top of their dash? I assume its being blown up through the vents. I've got so much salt on the top of my dash I could eat chips for a week. Anything I can do about this whilst the clam be off?

Was out last weekend and the speedo was jumping all over the place, + and - 25mph to what i would guess was the true reading. Initially i thought it only happened when going over bumps but seemed to be doing it on smooth roads too. At motorway speeds it seemed to settle down, but on slowing down it was still all over the place. Any one else had this problem? Suggestions / ideas would be helpfull, cheers, Rich

As usual, i'm looking for something different for the Elise this time an exhaust. Anyone had any experience with Larini Exhausts? They look pretty sweet here. Got some sounds on the page too. S1 exhaust images at bottom of page. Also while doing a google search for "larini elise" I stumbled across this.... eugh!

Just got her back from Horizon after an A service - and Mike's done it again - fantastic service. I asked him to look at the petrol fumes smell in the cockpit, and lubricate my squeaky clutch pedal. He's replaced the breather pipe to cure the fumes as it had perished. Lubricated the pedal. Freed off the siezed front brake pads (due to lack of use!) all for just an extra hours labour @ £34.00 She also needed a new wiper blade so by request they've ordered me a S2 arm and blade, the price? £27.46!! I've had my S2 Elise now for 4 months and am toying with the idea of adding a sports exhaust and induction kit - improving the noise and perhaps adding a little to the performance (wish I'd bought a 135r you see). Now, the car is still under waranty (and to be honest I will probably extend it when it expires in Oct) so fitting non-lotus parts would invalidate it (I am told anyway). My question is - is there any way lotus could tell you had fitted the above, fairly tame, mods in the event of a claim IF you removed them and replaced the OEM stuff before taking it in? Anyone heard of anyone fitting a Blitz SUS Induction kit for the K-series? Blitz are a big aftermarket Jap car part manufacturer it seems from the UK website. Looks like an interesting product made entirely of stainless steel. Bet it gives a cracking induction noise

Aplogies for only being a member for 2 minutes and already bombarding the board with repetative mod questions, but: I love my Elise (120 S2), and am really thrilled with the handling on those country roads (and the occasional traffic light grand prix). However I find that at speed, on motorways/dual carriageways the front end becomes incredibly light feeling, not inspiring any kind of confidence - this is much worse on wet/damp roads. I even had the front end tracked/balanced as I didn't think this was 'right' but they assure me the settings are correct. ..has fallen off again. Last time I stuck it back on with some glue from Halfords but that's only lasted four months. Does anyone have a reccomendation? What do the windscreen replacement companies use? Will araldite work? How long is a piece of string?
