I bought a shiny gear lever surround (I know, GJOB...) and think I left it on the Footman James stand. They're the insurance people, just inside the door. It's absolutely impossible to get through to anyone in organisation (Exhibition Centre, Footman James) by phone to find out if I did leave it there. I was sat down getting an insurance quote from a chap called Stephen Banks at around 4pm on Saturday and think I left it on his table while he was giving me bits of paper. If you're going up on Sunday, I'd really appreciate it if you could ask on their stand if it did get left behind and let me know. I guess I'm trying to avoid a drive up there on the offchance but …

Cross Posted from SELOC, 23/3/2004 at 23:54 http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=19821 Race Speed - no longer trading "Sadly Race Speed has ceased trading. You can expect further information on this over the next few days. However the organisational baton for Le Mans will be passed over, you will get some news very soon here - please stay tuned. You will only need to wait a matter of hours. On a personal note it has been a big struggle over recent weeks with Race Speed, and I am continuing to work hard on on ensuring our customers don't loose out. Please be patient for a few days whilst the situation becomes a little clearer. Rest assured I am …

Hi, got a slight (major) problem with my car, trying to find the VIN number on my S1, there should be one in the front compartment but the sticker seems to have been removed. So i'm trying to find the one in the rear wheel arch and have found one number but it is only 15 digits long and doesn't match up with the log book. the number i have found is inside the rear wheel arch on the drivers side and goes vertically up, if this isn't the VIN number what is it? and where is the real VIN number? any ideas?? any help would be much appreciated cheers mark

Well....do they. Morons putting £44 worth of petrol in thier ugly batmobiles to get 200 miles. Just swanning round the forums on my day off and came across this one. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=313451 shit. I remember now why I bought it. To take it up Santa Pod every day to wreck the clutch ! Too 'kin right you did ! Lets not go overboard old chap. It was a flagship model with 80 more bhp than a std elise and the 111R has now made it redundant anyway. Mad Mark stuck up for the elise though fair play. Can't understand these numpties who flame other cars and have no knowledge at all about anything other than …

Hi all, I'm bowing to pressure from work and buying a 2nd ‘work car’ something more sensible. The girlfriends dad is gonna as good as give me his Volvo S70 2.5t v5. My only problem is the insurance though I am 27 my elise is only about £650 to ensure with Tescos to insure a 2nd car 3rd party fire and theift is £675 which is a killer for a car which is worth little more thank 4-5 grand. It’s because of not being able to use my no claims bonus for the 2nd car. I’ve tried using the Mrs’ details but she had an accident 2 years ago and apparently that excludes her from using her 2 years no claims bonus on a 2nd car. So anyone have any ideas or advice. I’m getting it t…

Iv'e been thinking quite a bit about the S2 values now the 111r is out and being delivered. Not in any small way because I bought my K series S2 and was told that there were no plans to release a toyota engined elise in the UK (or I'd have perhaps waited or bought an S1). Is the 111R seriously going to affect the values of the K series Elises to the degree that people are predicting? What are your opinions? I don't think they will drop as much as some people are thinking - my logic is as follows: A halfway decent spec 111R (touring pack) is the best part of £30k - thats a world apart from the 19-24k used K series have been selling for. How many people would…

I had my car serviced today to be told that the altenator has worn bearings and needs replacing at a cost of £260 (part only). It is not covered under warranty as it is an electrical item...hmmmm....so I have left a message with Lotus Customer Services suggesting that on a 2 year old car with less than 13k miles on the clock, the altenator should not fail and am looking for a 50/50 share of the cost. Does anyone have experience of taking this route ? Am I likely for success or doomed to a lighter wallet ? Cheers, Steven
