The new Exige is out soon. The new Esprit is on it's way. The Elise is starting to turn into Boxter rival IMO, so what should Lotus do now? A hard core sports car, with no frills perhaps a tad cheaper than the Elise. Or a Ferrari/Porsche supercar rival, around 100k? What do you think?

I had a new back box fitted on my elise by JCT600 last weekend for me buying it but ive noticed it sits a little to the left. How much do you think my Lotus dealer are going to sting me for getting it straightened. I would of thought it would be a 10 min job....or maybe i should just go to quick fit or something although i dont trust any spotty 17 year old to fix it. **NOT SNOWING TODAY - **

The 'plastic?' silver bit in the centre of the wheel, came when I bought it with grubby bits near the leather of the wheel, where the previous owners must have held the horizontal parts of the wheel, presumably on motorway driving. I know one can get this covered in Alacantra, but I am not fussed about this, does everyone have a dirty silver bit, or is there special finger mark cleaning stuff? Guess I should probally ask my SWMBO......... seeing as I don't do much cleaning. Ho hum. Any effeminate men out there know the answer? Thanks James

Well Ladies, looks like we're all going to be driving around with lovely carpets!!! Hope they do them in purple Copied from Liam on SELOC this morning, a reply from Lotus: Elise Footwell Floor Corrosion - February 2004 Lotus is aware that a small number of Elise models factory fitted with synthetic mats in the footwells, have experienced some cosmetic corrosion of the top surface of the aluminium footwell floor panels. Lotus has concluded its investigations and would like to thank its customers for their patience over the last few months, which has enabled us to fully research the issue and validate the solution. These extensive investigation…

I need help... The time has come to lift the old Elan Plus 2 body off the old chassis and move into the garage. I need some help to do this, so this is a request for 3 or 4 strong(ish) and able volunteers to give me a hand on Sunday afternoon for an hour or so, at say around 4-5PM (After Mid's run, perhaps ?). Theory says that four people can lift and move the shell using the sills to carry the body (see pic) and I think there's just enough height in the garage to do this. If you probably can help, reply here and I'll send you directions and contact no's via e-mail. If it's pouring with rain on Sunday, I'll reschedule. Cheers, Niall

I emailed Lotus asking how those owners who had already purchased a carpet set would be affected by the footwell remedy. The response, which I have no issue with, received is:- Thank you for your e-mail dated [x], with reference to the Elise chassis/footwell corrosion issue. Despite the fact that you have already purchased a full carpet set (at a discounted price), we are sorry, but there is no intention on our part to recompense you or any other customer that may have purchased carpets to replace the original floor covering. Whatever level of treatment the car undergoes, new carpet mats will be supplied and fitted. Any additional carpet mats can be utilis…

....for 'letting' me use your car park tonight as I went to see the Blues at one of their worst performances of the season while I froze my ass off for over 2 hours. Thanks to you I wasn't one of the many people who got a parking ticket on Warner St.

Don't know about everyone else, but i'm getting pretty fed up with all the virus riddled emails flying around at the moment. We had 6 networked pc's that managed to get infected with the W32/Netsky.B@MM virus yesterday, it took me most of the day to go through everyones computers and make sure everything was OK. Don't understand why these got infected because I have all our pc's completely up todate with anti-virus and the firewall is set to reject as much as it can without it rejecting every email with an attachment. I used the Stinger program (written by Mcafee) to get rid of the viruses that i'm sure a lot of people already know about but i'm sure there are plenty …
