Gareth
for my Elise.....my garage is too narrow to get the Elise in....where can i get a outdoor cover? i know you can buy car covers from Halfords that i suppose will do the job!
Ladders
The best are from www.specialisedcarcoversuk.com I think thats there address? They are expensive, about £120?, but they are water proof, breathable and won't scratch your car.
Sol
I have the same problem with garage, and in the end decided on the Maypole cover(cant remember whether its small or medium). They cost about 20-25 quid and look ugly as anything youve ever seen(from The Motorists Centre). The plus side is that its chirpy cheap, and considering where I live it was as much to hide whats underneath as to give a little protection from anyone that wants to key it for a laugh. I also tend to park at my g/fs grandmas which is under a tree that gives off a lot of sap and bird shite, which is its main use. The cover is breathable too, but not great in heavy showers. It does usually save you from the winter morning scraping. I also had to get the sewing machine out to sew 4 strips where the wheels are to tie to the alloys because in heavy winds it can blow off.(Over time it does stretch slightly).. The Halfords Tyvex covers are the next keenest non specialist covers(~£60) that are breathable, but I couldnt give you a comparison about weather protection or fit. You get what you pay for I suppose, and I didnt wanna advertise whats underneath particularly to anyone else, but needed a little protection from"nature"...Hope that helps. Bramble111s
Are u sure u can't get it in the garage. Mine was damn tight, but I am now used to getting out and along the side to exit by osmosis. So don't really think twice now about the squeeze. After all its always worth it!!! (yahoOO! I own a lotus!) sorry....
Ladders
Yes, I have to wind the window down before I get out! Not a problem in the summer when the roofs off though
Gareth
Yeah my garage is an older style. Dont have a over top garage door just two doors that swing open. Its just the entrance thats tight. Once your in the garage there is plenty room
Sol
Mine is an "over the top" but very tight at the entrance, and the doors make it a difficult entry. Unless for insurance purposes, it seems a lot easier to leave it in the drive. And on the subject, wasnt there an issue with insurance cover being questionable when the cover is off?(Not that it could be easily proven if stolen)
Gareth
Anyone think that this COVER will do the job. Im going to look into widening the garage but that wont be done till next summer
Ladders
Looks alright! Only thing I would be worried about is whether it was soft inside or is going to abrade the paintwork when it flaps around?
Scott_Mac
I bought one for £7.99 from Argos to cover the Elan... ok its not soft inside or anything, but it does the trick!

daves2111s
Used to have mine in the drive with a Halfords cover. To be fair it did quite well but as someone already mentioned the wind does get under it. Not only does this run the risk of blowing it off it also blows all the dust under it ready to scratch the paintwork. Probably the single biggest problem with covers is that you really do need to clean the car before you put it on. Anyway after 9 months and the neighbours fence nearly falling on it,... the garage had to be cleared to make way. Best thing I ever did. Can put it away a little dusty leave the roof off, no rusty locked up discs, don't spend all my time looking out the window to make sure she's ok either. It is a little tight to get out but with the top off no problem. (put a nice block of foam on the wall to stop the door getting chipped) So verdict..........keep her in the garage at any cost.
