What's the worst mod you've seen on an Elise (or an Elite to include you sensitive ones ) Not wishing to labour the point BUT obviously top of my list are those awful carpet sets. Ok if they were fitted as standard to the car but choosing them as an after market option, shame on you

So are they a no no? I quite fancy the full set of carpets (think they are £125) to cut down any road noise. Who has them fitted and are they easy to fit....I know I would have to remove the seats

You ever had any problems with your 28x8 front plate? As in, from the authorities. Got mine through today (complete with MLOC livery), and by-eck its small! Smaller than I expected! Will fit it once my front-end repairs are complete. I also heard a mention of "industrial strength velco" - Halfords didn't have any - where else can I get the stuff?

Just sharing this information with you all! Couple of days ago, I had to go to Glasgow (from Redditch) for a business meeting - with good and clear weather - decided to drive there using my Elise. To avoid falling asleep at the wheel - I set myself a challenge. To get to Glasgow at the shortest possible time - without stopping to refuel or anything else! I admit I sweated a bit when the 'refuel' message came on when passing Carlisle - using mental calcuations - decided to risk it all and carried on to Glasgow. Got there just under four hours without stopping - achieved my challenge! (Well, I stopped once to pay the toll) Refuelled in the next day -…

I'm thinking of buying one of these 2nd hand for my lady. Anyone on here got any experience with them. May settle for any of the 3 series 6cyl coupes, but there doesn't seem to be too much difference in prices. Any advise/comment. Thx

wooooooHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! just did 300 business miles to Brackley and back. I have never driven like this before, big sweeping roundabouts to be gobbled up at speed! accelerating up to (60) after them, etc etc! It was great! Amazing, awesome! Used a whole tank of fuel, and pedelled to the medal a few times! Had a very adult and friendly tussle with a porche 9897????!!! lots of numbers, which had a little smiley face sticker on the back, after one such roundabout, It was pretty much even stevens, apart from he was prepared to go to a higher top speed than I was at the end. All happy, we cruised back to Norwich in convoy with a friendly wave as we w…

Hello again and goodbye, Judging by the replies to my posting this forum is not for me. A pity because I wanted to be involved in a group that would embrace all examples of the marque and not be elitist...ooh. Mr. Mac the Kidderminster enthusiast obviously has a big chip on his shoulder and cannot read either... Regards...

You may all know I had a bit of clutch trouble last week, stop sniggering at the back Master Bates, and everyone seemed to be busy and could not fit me in, stop that Bates. Anyway someone pointed me to Horizon ( http://www.horizonmotorsport.co.uk/ ) and Mike and his lady came round and collected the car Sunday and dropped of a 106 loaner. Collected the car this afternoon, even though it was ready yesterday, and not only was it fixed, but it was clean and I got a coffee and a walk round the workshop and history on some of the interesting stuff. 10 out of 10 Mike and a fair price. Had also got me a price for fixing the nose following the removal of the tow hook …

After reading a post on SELOC about this, i decided to check my policy and Tesco state in the policy document that the car is not covered if the roof is left off..... i wasn't aware of this and thought i would make others aware in case! Someone mentioned that a shower cape was sufficient, so i think for £54 (special offer from Motobuild) i shall invest! I'll get my own confirmation of this first but it is quite alarming!!!!

http://www.findit.co.uk/cars/lotus/elise/1046579.htm I'm pretty sure it's my old Elise that I sold in August (except now has S160 wheels on it; bugger - I always wanted some of those). The bloke that bought it came round in a red FTO which he's also selling. Can't be a coincidence. I was gutted to have to sell it but the bugger's hardly used it! Had 36k-ish on it when I sold it; being advertised as 36k. What a waste. If anyone's interested in it, confirm the reg. number and I'll tell you all you need to know... Feeling really despondent now. Will be a year before I can afford another fun car.

Just had my A service and they mentioned that there is a little play on the steering rack, but nothing to be excited about at this stage. How long will it last? I know this all depends on how I drive, miles and stick given. But a rough guess, a year? 2 years? 6 months? The car is my daily drive, but only a few miles, with the odd weekend hour adventure. So I would put it in a low to low medium 'use' They also said the ball joints show some wear and the gaiters are split, but would pass an MOT. So I guess all these will need replacing at some point. I will check Eliseparts in a mo to find out costs. I assume I can get any reputable garage to replace the ball joints …
