Rght - I've stuck up for Peter Smith Sports Cars quite abit over the last 18 months - but now I'm changing my tune! Called to book in my S1 for an A service & was quoted £410! Had the same job last year plus a steering gaitor fitted for £340. When I asked as to why the different I was told "labour has gone up" - what by over 20%? They were not prepared to budge so finally called around & went to Nick Whale in Brum. Nice place, nice people good job! They pointed out that due to the age of my car (1999) I should have a C Service - especially for the cam belt, even though the catr has only done 15 000 miles (most of which since I've had it). What's t…

Will the 1983 Lotus Eclat Excel make it to Le Mans there and back ? Was going to go in the TVR, but ... Who would sponsor me at 1p per mile to go there and back in the Eclat Excel I bought on Monday ? Tamworth to Le Mans and back. All sponsorship funds to go back to MLOC - Beefy could then create a new member category of "MLOC 2005 - Contrib members. Continental Car Tours notified and say no prob with change of the vehicle. TVR or LOTUS - MLOC members choice. If I go in the TVR - no gain to MLOC - if I go in the Lotus Eclat Excel MLOC gets some pennies. Anyone available to check the car over pre event - aka Elaine/Reg dad ? Come on gu…

Me and my dad were having a conversation about how good the exige front clam looks like, then it came across to us wether it would be possible to put the clam on a stardard s1.We thought about the "front splitter" but we really liked the cutaways next the the opening for the tow.I though maybe someone knows about this or some problems with it.I thought perhaps the exige is wider than the elise but i dont know, anyone got any ideas about this???

Just called Chris Knott about an insurance related issue and casually enquired if fitting a Hurricane would affect my premium. The nice lady disappeared for a few second retuning to inform me that it would cost an additional £130 due to it affecting the horse power of the car. Now, I'm (well) over 30 with 6 (or 7) years NCB - so I can't see it being either of those. Is this the norm ?

Autocar Mag has the new Lotus Europa in its finest glory. It's the car they showed I think last year as spy shots. 200bhp on a stretched S2 Elise tub starting at around £ 30k.
