Because of an almost eye level dink in the windscreen on the driver side? It's not a crack, just a chip and it doesn't seem to have gone completely through to the inside of the car, but I know MOT testing can be quite harsh when it comes to windscreens. The MOT is due this month (booked in locally on Monday the 22nd) and I really hope a new screen isn't necessary Anybody know what constitues the requirement for windscreen replacement?

Popped into Nick Whale last night and walked out with a nice Sparco Pro Jet helmet (A/FR) for a reasonable £144. Lisa was very helpful and luckily she had one in stock that fitted. There is a 10% discount on at the moment with racewear (unfortunately you can't use the MLOC 10% discount on top). Also saw Mark's poorly Exige on the ramps There ends my exciting purchase of the month

Following months of waiting and deliberating, finally got to pick up the new car on Friday.Having only been driving a 1.1 Corsa for the last five years, it's certainly a different feeling! Slightly disappointed that my only attempt to drive with the top down so far has ended in deluge disaster, but never mind. The only thing that is bothering me so far is... speed bumps. Loughborough, like most places these days, is covered with the buggers, and whilst I have so far managed to take convoluted routes to avoid them, at some point I'm gonna have to approach them. So are there any tips on how to get over them without causing yourself a problem? I have nightmare visions of…

Oh and whats the best colour. Cheers Steve

While at work this morning i could hear a car driving along the main road (really loud exhaust) Then i heard a clattering sound. I popped my head out the door and saw a purple mettalic chav mobile. Not exactly sure what it used to be but it was Fiesta size with full matching set of skirts and spoiler and big bumper that went down to the floor. The clattering noise was caused by one side of the bumper coming loose and hitting the road. Chavvy began to pull over then i think he thought he had something caught under the car and the best way to move it would be to speed up There were a few watching him now so he decided to floor it down the road to show off The bumper fa…

The little piece of rubber broke on my keyfob (The round cobra one with 2 buttons) So I got a new case for it. So although that bit of rubber is bust that connects it to the keyring, I have the old case (no insides) if it'd be any use to anyone if yours is cracked, or the rubber buttons are worn through. Thought I might as well ask before it goes in the bin.

I'm going to build a (lightweight) mid-motorbike-engined Scamp. Has anyone got any ideas on a reversing set up? I've had a look at a Nova Racing Reverse Box, but they seem to be for front engined vehicles (?). The Quaife POWERtec Gear Drive System, is my ideal...........................but costs £2380. (and I'm not even sure that includes the VAT!) Any thoughts/ideas/comments, good & bad, will be muchly appreciated. Cheers E.

Just thought i'd let you guys know that after 2 1/2 years of almost trouble free motoring the Elise is going. I haven't really been a big contributor to the forum but I have been grateful for the advise given in the technical areas and it's help keep costs down to a minimum. I know you'll all hate the car I am replacing it with but I'm getting a Smart Roadster (Speedsilver special edition) it's only 6 months old and has all the bells and whistles that you could wish for. I spend most of my time stuck in queues of traffic and the Automatic/Tiptronic gears are going to be a dream. All the best Derek
