The reason I am writing as I have a few concerns/Questions. Here they are:- 1, are the series one really all rattle and poor comfort, a brief search is pulling up Some real reliability problems? 2, How practical is the car going to be for a day to day car. 3, I currently own a 406 Coupe (2.0l) which has pretty good luggage space, is there a rack available for the lotus for longer journeys? 4, I am 6 foot 4 will that present a problem? 5, Wha…

So after the recent sale of my Cerbera I was today mugged by John at Nick Whales and every last penny removed from my pockets and taken as deposit on a new Exige. On a serious note John as ever came up with the right deal. I did try Peter smiths they never bothered calling me back, I also tried two others for whom the effort is just to much trouble. Anyway my first question to anybody out there with a stage 2 exhaust on an Exige or S2, how loud is it?.I fully intend to track my car but do not want to fail at the first hurdle!, and get thrown off on my first track day in the car. Cheers Steve

Some t**t has just done this to my S1.. Couple of concerns that you may be able to help with - Can her insurance dictate where I get the work done ? (I want to take to Lotus main body shop which is only 12 miles away) - My car is Titanium, but is 8 years old.. I garage it, as did the previous owner, but I'm concerned about colour match if they re-spray the door ? I think the fibre glass is OK - and this will just be spray work and a new mirror 0 the whole thing is fooked and won't stay in place... Sh*t man - I'm gutted.....

They are just having a play now surely or is this to attract people on a recruitment drive? All the coppers I see in the cars seem far too chubby to get in & out of an Elsie with any dignity. Anyway here's the complete story FYI UK POLICE ADOPT THE LOTUS POSITION By Wheels' Chris Gable No-one likes getting booked. But if it has to happen, you'd probably prefer it if the police arrived on the scene, sirens blaring, in something like this. Lotus has supplied the UK's Norfolk Constabulary with a special Lotus Elise designed to carve some street cred with performance car enthusiasts - and to chase over-enthusiastic enthusiasts. The car has already …

can anyone give me some help and advice. arrived in birmingham this morning with temp. gauge at 114. on parking water was p******g out from under car. managed to get a freind at stratstone (aston martin)to have a look and he tells me the 2 pipes carrying coolent into engine has rubbed together causing a hole in one and pressureised water to leak out at about 1 pint per 2 mins. my problem is that looking at my warrenty from "auto protect" issued by chris neill in nortwich(where i purchased from 8 weeks ago) they mention "hoses as a wear/tear item not covered by policy. anyone had similar trouble and had it dealt with by dealer/garage or been left with a big bill…

Been reading interesting topics in these forums, particularly the one posted by carlylove, poor chap starts topic about a new elise web page, and it ends up with the spanish inquisition into his private life and lots of talk on the subject of sex , so I thought I,d contribute to the topic, being as there seems to be no female participation on the subject what so ever. (Apart from Fiona and her worn out rabbit). Is that as exciting as it gets, I dont think so !!!! Which is best 130 mph on a empty road in a red hot beast of a machine , or sex thats the question???? Which does it for you ?????? Personally I fancy having ago at both at the same time , could get a…

Bought the special issue Auto Express today to read the article on the new SEAT Leon (ugly as hell). The main feature though is the World's Top 50 Fastest Cars and the Lotus Elise features in the 1990-1999 category (S1 Elise). Okay so it's not exactly a "fast car", but they have put it in the same line up as:- Dodge Viper Renault Clio Williams TVR Griffith 500 Honda NSX Ford Escort RS Cosworth Subaru Impreza Turbo 4WD Bugatti EB110 Some pretty prestigious cars to be ranked alongside there Their ode to the Lotus Elise was as follows:- So there you go...

Ok I expect some pi$$ taking from S1 owners but this is a serious request. Thinking about what finances I need to have next year to make my S1 Exige purchase, so what can I expect for my S2 Elise ST? Most of you know the spec. I would prefer to put it back to standard to sell (except the viper stripes) and the then sell the extras separate, but if it goes to someone on MLOC then I'll sell as is. I was thinking in the £17k ball park. Cheers and be kind you lot

Hello all Hope everyone is well. Word on the "street" is that Horizon are offering Honda/Audi conversions. There's an interested party nearby them (sadly not me!) who wants to know... I'd email Wendy but I know they're busy so I thought I'd hassle you lot first to see if anyone knew anything Cheers! Matt
