I have downloaded the helpfully posted .mp3 files from MLOC (thanks guys) of a Larini exhaust and the Hayward & Scott unit. Anyone got anything similar (sound files) for the Janspeed or Lotus stage 1 ? Others ? Or . . . opinion on which sounds the best overall ? Do mostly 0-80mph 'A' and 'B' road driving (no long motorway hauls etc.) Looking for something with a little more of a Ferrari whine than Viper burble . . . Thanks in advance.

I'm having a discussion in the office with a bunch of people, the main gist of which is: where does the phrase 'Teaching your grandmother to suck eggs' come from? Its a slow day obviously... Various questions arise - why your grannie? why eggs? whats the point? Anyone got any ideas or knowledge on this vitally important question?

Hi Everyone! I'm new to the world of Lotus Elises. I bought a S2 1.8 in Red in February after trading in my trouble free motor, an Audi TT 225. I've only had the Lotus 6 months and already all the gearbox oil fell out of it due to the gear change linkage rubber gate coming away. While this was fixed they also found a "on its last legs" handbrake cable and a leaky front strut. Total cost £480. Then the radiator blew on a hot day in traffic, took a week and a half to fix and cost £649!! Is this normal, or have I just had a run of bad luck?? I'm sick of my friends saying "Lots of Trouble, Usually Serious", are they just jealous or do they have a point? I …

Hello Lotus enthusiasts I'm organising a huge photo shoot for the next issue of Classic Cars magazine, all about the most popular classic cars of all time. I'm looking for a tidy, original-looking (unmodified) rear-wheel drive Elan (preferably in a bright colour) to take part. The venue is Bruntingthorpe Test Track near Leicester on Wednesday August 24. We'll be starting at 9am and the shoot will take most of the day. In return I can offer a fun day out with like-minded enthusiasts, the thrill of seeing your car in print, you'll be fed and watered and the magazine will cover the cost of your petrol. If you'd like to take part, please call me on: 01733 4682…
