New Lotus Europa In Autocar Mag

Autocar Mag has the new Lotus Europa in its finest glory. It's the car they showed I think last year as spy shots.

 

200bhp on a stretched S2 Elise tub starting at around £ 30k.

Hard to see what it actually offers over the Elise, except for a bit more lard:

* Still a 2-seater

* 200bhp in a heavier car will make it slower than 190bhp 111r/Exige

 

So it's slower, a bit more comfy with a bigger boot, wider doors, more toys. A Lotus Boxster/ Cayman then. Won't have die-hard Elise owners turning cartwheels but will appeal to a new group of prospective owners. We shouldn't judge it by the standards of the Elise.

I suppose Lotus would then also be loosley an Audi too!! Maybe that Audi lump conversion could soon be done under warranty
