jonnyfox Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 Finally got sometime yesterday and today to restart work on the car. First off fit washer bottle and inertia switch... Next tidy up external switches Add more engine bay bling Clean all and any sticky stuff of sills (took ages) left over from seals. Cable tie and magnet pylons and brackets to rear subframe, measure up.... Done... Fit clam and front aero catches, lose nut into sill, MDF patternes to mark underside of clam. Cut, refit and finish for the night.... Also, front clam, quarter panels and roof went for painting today

jonnyfox Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 Getting there, clam now self supported and pylons fixed! Snug as a bug in a rug.....solid in fact (nice one Gav!). Right off home to make hay, diffuser stays, swap for nyloc nuts where needs be and wheel arch-liners today, engine lid tomorrow maybe.....
jonnyfox Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 I thought the same about your Mrs Bruce lol ;-)
Chalkey Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I thought the same about your Mrs Bruce lol ;-) Haha what are you like! Cars looking brilliant mate, will it be ready and wrapped for Chatsworth? Any ideas on wrap colours yet?
jonnyfox Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Having it painted now Bruce, wrapping the front and rear clam was a two part job and because of the curvature of both in certain areas maybe three to four. That's kind of where I zoned out....... So agreed a price to supply parts ready for paint and got the cost right down........Satin Black (not Matt), how original am I! Thing is I've done so much work myself inevitably it's not perfect and I'm hoping that colour will help hide any imperfections. Diffuser on although forgot to take a picture of the back of the car with everything fitted. To finish off I need some quarter turn fastners where the tape is and I need to bond some little angle brackets to the inside of clam for the top of the wheels arch-liners (it's all good actually, could be an over kill but hey). Oh and fit engine lid and draw up number plate holder with integrated lighting. One man job removing rear clam is 10 minutes in this state, maybe 20 minutes (approx) when complete.
danwebster Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Looking good, hope to see you on track some time...I think we should be evenly matched
