Afternoon all from sun lounger in north Wales . whilst I ponder whether to go paddle boarding or open a beer I thought I would ask the below as some of you know my lad has been working on a mini / mid restoration on an S1 and it should be ready for the road next week . despite him been sensible, and unfortunately one of his pals writing off his newly restored mx5 after 5 days on the road …… , I figured he , and for sure I , could benefit from a lotus specific training day away from the open road to learn the handling character of the car and how to recover if things go a bit squirrelly. I am aware of the car limits /Walshy days , but the web si…

Final part of my winter upgrades , after the cv boots , tyres , headlight refresh etc is a new pair of 4 or 5 point harnesses to go with my lovely new tillet B5’s . My sabelt 4 points have moved with my seats into Ethan’s Elise and the fitting plates for the tillets now require the clip type fitting for the harness . I have ordered new fittings for my harness bar so just need to decide which route to take and hope the MLOC massive can advise . Are 5 points harness worthwhile, as I use mainly on the road plus the odd track day . not sure what additional parts I would need to purchase and fit to secure the 5th between the legs strap . Any brands I should avoid ? …

Hi all. This is an appeal on behalf of a good friend with an s2 Elise. He wants - or rather needs - to get his Bilstein dampers refurbed at Bilstein but he will obviously need to send them off and the Elise is his daily driver. So my question is, does anyone have any spare or old dampers tucked away that he could rent or borrow or buy? He's a good lad my friend and has done a lot for MLOC over the years including making the original Lotus in the Peak film and designing one of the LitP posters. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful. Thanks folks 🙂 Dean

Hi. I am planning a road trip into north west wales early next year for a few mates, and whilst picking the roads isn't difficult, I could do with some recommendations for cafes, lunch stops etc. Route is coming together as follows: From Conwy, Betws-y-Coed, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Trawsfynydd, Bala, Evo Triangle, and back to Conwy. Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks Hartley

Hello everyone, I'm so pleased that I was able to finally join! The short story of my Elise ownership starts back in 2001 when my Dad bought a Lightning Yellow S2 new from the dealer, he named her Leeloo, my first memory of it is being taken to Sarehole mill when I was about 9 years old. Fast forward to April this year and the evening of my wedding, my dad gives me a little brown envelope as a wedding present... inside was the V5C to Leeloo! - The only caveat? My dads mobility had got steadily worse over the years to the point that getting in and out of an Elise was a medical impossibility, he was driving the car on weekends and one weekend he parked it o…

Hi all, new member here! I got myself an Elise (2002 111S) last spring after promising myself one for the last 20+ years. Love it, but I now need a few things doing. My first priority this year is the timing belt(s) and water pump. I've considered doing it myself, I'm lucky that I have space in my garage and it's not my daily driver, so I can take my time. I've seen a very good video online of a standard (non-VVC) engine being done, but I can't find much about the VVC belt and the manual tensioner. Otherwise I'm going to have to find a garage to get it done. Any advice, either on doing the job myself, or anyone vaguely local would be very much apprecia…
