Factory Testing There is a factory in America which makes the Tickle Me Elmo toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arm. A new employee is hired at the Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day - promptly at 08:00. The next day at 08:45 there is a knock at the Personnel Manager's door. The Foreman from the assembly line throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee. He complains that she is incredibly slow and the whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule. The Personnel Manager decides he should see this for himself so the 2 men march down to the factory floor. When they get there…

Picked up my car from Horizon today after a geo. They were telling me that Toyo have released a new track day tyre http://www.toyo.co.uk/index.php?fuseaction=car.R888 I'm no tyre expert, any idea whether any of the combinations offered would fit standard S1 or victory rims. Horizon are selling a set for around £400 which looks good value on the face of it. Not sure how well they will compare to the Yoko semi slicks but may be worth a try, especially as I need new tyres soon.

Saturday, as usual i wandered over to my garage to get my baby out, i opened the garage door to find 9 or 10 pieces of a flatpack wardrobe had fallen off a high shelf straight onto the front of the car, arrrghhh. Anway i lifted off the wood, expecting to find cracked fibreglass, but was surprised to find only a few scuffs, that i think will polish out. Anyway, if that wasn't bad enough i reversed the car out of the garage, down the driveway, onto the road and straight back into a parked car double arrgh. It didn't do too much damage, see the attached pic, but can i have your recomendations for where to get it repaired, and if you have had any similar work done…

I know Scott is a bit of an Audiophile (yes, thats Audio ) so dunno if he knows Need some new speakers for me PC. Been recommended some £200, surround sound 5.1 speakers, 505W RMS, THX certified, DD5.1 decoder and all that rubbish. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products...,CONTENTID=5048 Listen to alot of music via my PC both CD's and MP3's, also for gaming, the odd DVD or VCD so I'd really like a 5.1 setup. I know nothing about "proper" Hi-Fi equipment as we've only ever had cheap ready-to-run HiFi's in this house....and I was told that for £200 (for amp + speakers) I could get something that would (in the words of said geek) "0wn" a PC speaker setup…

I spent the weekend in the Peak District, walking, cycling and generally just chilling out after a few hard weeks at work. I have to say that the area is just fantastic for chilling out. Everyone is so chilled out and nothing bothers them, and on a BIG plus side, I took the Lotus and the roads are just quality. Did a early morning blast and a late night blast, what fun. Filled up with fuel after the trip and I had averaged 42mpg! Jaye

No, not to an S2 ... haha Well, at least I'm not downgrading THAT far Thinking about trying to find someone who is interested in upgrading from a base 120 S1 to a Sport160, so we'd swap. The reason is this - my 160 is wasted on me (no comments!) because I'm not using the benefits of it by going on track. A base S1 would be far, far better for me, and I could then free up a few grand to allow me to buy a MK1 Golf GTI (Ladders ) for my everyday car, and maybe pay off some of the loan. What do you reckon? Would I be dissapointed with a 120 ? Would I end up spending the difference on upgrades to try and make up for the loss of 40bhp? Never really driven a…

Just heard via another Elise driver with relatives in France that the Froggie Police have just been issued with : 1 - new speed guns 2 - an order to target any British car on its way to / from Le Mans that's borderline on the limit. Obviously, the direct routes from the ferries / Eurochunnel will be most targetted. The tolls roads already do this by calculating speed from the start / stop times on your toll ticket. Apparently, on the news, they're openly admitting that it's a chance to make some money..... Pinch of salt might be needed, but I'll not be taking (m)any chances. Chris
