New Toyo Track Day Tyres

Picked up my car from Horizon today after a geo. They were telling me that Toyo have released a new track day tyre

I'm no tyre expert, any idea whether any of the combinations offered would fit standard S1 or victory rims.

 

Horizon are selling a set for around £400 which looks good value on the face of it. Not sure how well they will compare to the Yoko semi slicks but may be worth a try, especially as I need new tyres soon.

They've got the 225/45/16's which are suitable for victory rears, but only do 195/55/15, which are a bit big on the sidewall, but you might get away with it.

 

Not sure about a standard S1, they don't offer the 185 fronts, and I think the 205's again have the sidewall too big?

Std S1 wheels will take 195/50 R15 & 225/45 R16, just like the Victory wheels. Std rims are a bit narrower but the tyres are a safe fit.

Wonder what they will be like for daily use, especially in the wet etc.

 

Hope they do make them in the correct sizes!

Oooh, looks like the T1-S is gradually being replaced by the T1-R too... looks the same but with a solid edge to the side.... might aid over heating on trackdays.

I cant see them being any good in the wet being Cut slicks like the a038's, but should be nice around a dry track if the side walls are strong enough!

A048's are supposed to be ok in the wet.... but obviously not as good as "normal tyres"
