Is it me or are they dropping like stones? Strangely, base S1's seem to be unaffected, but S2 135R's for £20k, base S2's for £17k...I guess the 111R's have harder than I thought. Then the prices of the Sport160's are going down too...and there seem to be ALOT of them for sale at the moment... Minter here for £14,750 http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.as...i=23428&sc=DHA4 Which is a bastard cause I was hoping to get £16-16.5k for mine...looks like it'll be more like £15k Although strangely, S1 Exige prices seem to be getting stronger since the S2 Exige, despite the good reviews its been getting... Is this why were seeing an influx of people …

I know this is really cheeky! Has anyone got any contacts with the offshore oil/gas industry. I've been trying to get a graduate position for 6 months with no luck and am getting ever closer to the dreaded "do you want fries with that?" If anyone here has any mates who can drop my CV on the right desk please let me know, so my nine years of Cheminal Engineering education wont go to waste Cheers, Richard

Had a test drive of the new 'Complimentary Coffee and Biscuits' yesterday at the motorshow. I can confim that as per lotus standards the biscuits aren't actually square, the coffee is however nice and strong. Of particular note is the ease of access to the 'Corporate Dolly Birds' displayed at the show, one of which joined us for coffee whist Simon from Chris Neils tried to sell me a TVR Not a bad day at the show, bloody expensive tho. Spotted a Red S1 in the car park so chuffed there. Noble M12 feels so much like a kit car, upholstered floor bracing strips and everything. TVR Tamora is lurvly and soooo tempting, Sagerais is just bonkers. Dozzy woman on th…

Guys sorry for posting in the general areas, but have just put my money down on a really nice S2 so i need to sell my S1. Paul Matty have offered £12000 to 'take the car off my hands'!! so could you all put the word out for me.... I will take anything above that for a 'quick' sale... I have modified my advert on Piston heads but can not get on to the other Lotus boards while at work, so if anyone could cross post for me it would be mucho appreciated.. Warren 07970 216682

For Christmas my sister brought me a Red Letter Day to drive an Elise round the Rockingham circuit. Anyway, I've booked the session now and I'm off on the 19th June - wanted to wait till now to get a fairly good chance of nice weather so I can fully appreciate what they can do on a track I've never tracked mine, and am not planning to either, so am really looking forward to this. Has anyone done the same experience? Do they let you drive the cars properly (i.e. as they are intented) or do they make you pootle round at 7/10ths? Cheers, Steve.

Ok. So I put my hardtop for sale on Pistonheads and this is the mail I receive. Excuse me if it is not blatantly obvious what object is for sale ?? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=23924&s=12 ...... Come on Grant. What do you think is for sale for £650?? Use your Grey matter and read the title. NORFOLK MUSTARD HARDTOP Its the hardtop for sale not the car. Just got my car back from Horizon Motorsport. Mike and his team have done a wonderful job and it feels like a new car. Here's why: Bought car in std spec Sept '02. From a dealer, 12 month warranty. Spent nothing on the car except servicing and a dropped window (oh and a minor indescretion on the cat & fiddle run) for the last 20 months. Yes an Elise can really be that reliable. However, the result was worn out tyres (which were the "wrong" ones on the back anyway), tired dampers, spongey brakes, squeaky clutch trunnion, obstructive gearchange, and one or two cosmetic things that were starting to grate. Does this sound like a familiar story? Had fitted: S2 …

Hi, Does anyone recommend Horizon in Cradley Heath for general servicing? And is it cheaper than Nick Whale? I usually go to Nick Whale but Digbeth is a pain to get to through all that city centre traffic and the place isn't exactly spacious. I suppose Horizon has geometry adjustment equipment too? Cheers guys. Paul M.

Hi, Does anyone know if you can fit an Elise mkII steering wheel onto an Elan SE 1991 model? Just bought an Elan and the steering wheel is not looking its best. Also, has anyone got any suggestions on how to cover up stone chip marks on the Elise? After a couple of 1000 miles my front end looks like a star constellation - the negative side of a dark metallic blue colour, no doubt. Cheers, Paul McMahon

Got the car back from NW to find the plastic spindle that holds one bit of the front access panel was broken off. I doubt I could have proved that they had done it so decided to "manufacture" a replacement. Nice new spindle made from a cut-down wallplug superglued in place (looks better than the original). So what sort of "bodge" jobs has anyone else done that's worked and saved them a packet?

Tiff - boy he can drive!! The VX220 Turbo vs the Elise VVTi 6 Speed. They both did well, the elise beat the VX around the track but only by a front bumper, but winnings wining. Tiff did say the elise handled that bit better even though the VX was using a Lotus chassis. The elise was better at going into corners and felt alot more stable. The VX220 was giving out alot of understeer, and generally harder to drive, (wouldnt be suprised if it was harder due to the turbo constantly boosting at diff rpm's) Tiff did say the VVTi was not really much on the VX220 until 6000rpm when the engine peak kicked in, so you really did have to abuse it. VVTi / VTECH engines …
