Been to hospital twice today - the NHS amazed me, doctors appointment at 9.30, recommended a blood test and urgent Ultrasound scan (wasn't aware i may be pregnant)... went to have blood test done, home by 11am.... (signed off work for the week too ) Got phone call at 12.30.... Ultrasound scan booked for 3pm same day! Got there for scan, they said "you've got an appointment on the 28th October, we'll do that today too as you are suffering from the symptons... it may help" I nearly fainted! So there you go... they can do it Oh and if you are interested, the ultrasound revelaed a swollen kidney and have been told that i have the following: http://www.su…

OK - time to replace the temporary (1 year...) company car. Have a £30K budget but don't feel obliged to use it - the more it costs, the more you pay in tax! There's a Diesel, 4-door policy (bye bye ZT260, RX8). To be new, on a 3 year fully-maintained contract hire basis, mileage approx 20K pa. Won't have a BMW or Mercedes on principle. Audis & VW's are still too stodgy in the bends. Alfa's still iffy for reliability and lease rates ridiculous because of depreciation. Volvo, Saab - nah, just don't fancy it. No 4x4's (obviously!). And I must have a manual gearbox. Narrowed it down to the following: 1. Jag S-type 2.7D 2. Jag X-type Sport 2.0D, 128bhp 3. M…

Dropped my car off at Horizons and Tuesday to get the Geo done after fitting my S2 suspension. Was a fairly long drive for me and I managed to get lost for an hour trying to find the place Just make sure you get off the M5 at junction 3 as there instructions and not junction 2 like I did! When I arrived Mike and Wendy are very friendly, and got dropped off at the Merry Hill shopping centre while my car was worked on. Good way to pass the time if you have to hang around, but my wallet took a bit of a caning! Well thats when I got the bad news! I was hoping my tyres would last untill my Walshy day on the 11th, but Mike told me that the inside fronts of the …

Got plenty of invites left, anybody want an invite to Google GMail? 1GB of web mail storage so you dont ever have to delete any mail. Dont use mine personally to send emails but just as an online mail archive using tools to upload my emails into it. Post your name here and I'll send you an invite if I have free invitations left. So I'm in SWMBO's Ford Ka tonight on the A46 coming back from Lincoln having dropped my daughter off with the ex-SWMBO. Some t055er screams up behind me in the off side lane as I'm over taking 3 cars and a lorry, pulling over to the central divider flashing his headlamps - I'm already doing 85. I ease off the gas, just to prove a point. Psyco man starts clapping. I pull over to the inside lane making the appropriate hand signal, let psyco man pass me..... I notice that he has 2 kids in the car one small kid in the front and one smaller one in the back - neither wearing a seatbelt of course. So Mr Psyco then brakes and slots back in behind me, flashing his…

Took the elise to Harlequin Motors for a new clam this morning (some moron reversed in to me whilst i was sitting stationary in a car park) (I was also beeping at him - he was particularly special) Back to the question though - also at Harlequin was Storm's S2 Exige demonstrator - it appeared to be in one piece but i'm guessing it has just had some repair work - so who stacked it??? Must say the exige S2 looks very nice in dark blue.

My new (S1) Elise has a Milltek exhaust which sounds meaty but not too loud. It was fitted a few years back and the original owner got the system for free, since the car was used as the development for their then new Elise system. A look on the Milltek site now suggests they are looking for S2 Elises for the same reason. Can't do any harm finding out, can it? And they're only in Ilkeston. MILLTEK Graeme
