andy111r Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Dean what do you think the chances of us attending a speed awareness course. We could all go up in the elises
John FISH Curtis Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Bad luck guys. 69 in a 50 would not be a driver awareness course, you were going too quick.
andy111r Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 58 in a 50 your allowed 10% which makes 55 so 3mph over fingers crossed
scatty Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I reckon dean should get the Vaseline ready..... What with his pretty face, it could be a tough 6 months.... :-) Mrs scatty went on that speed awareness course. It obviously didn't work, 1 year later she's now back onto 6 points. I always remember after the course she said she wished she had taken the 3 points...lol.....
chrislane Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Not good news gents. I'm now dreading the post coming tomorrow. Having always been a good boy im a bit niaive to this, what kind of impact does 3 points / being caught speeding typically have on insirance?
John FISH Curtis Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Having always been a good boy im a bit niaive to this, what kind of impact does 3 points / being caught speeding typically have on insirance? Your screwed...... sell up now!!!! Seriously, your premium "may" increase slightly. Having had a clean license since 1997, i cant give a proper answer.
andy111r Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 What speed was Mrs scatty doing, how much over was she? Still, when they see it was in a elise we will probably get the 3 points.
KurtB Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Bad luck guys, that sucks. I think we ought to put runs out in the correct place maybe, just to keep non subscribers (read fascist bully boys) out of the loop. So, with that said...
scatty Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 What speed was Mrs scatty doing, how much over was she? Still, when they see it was in a elise we will probably get the 3 points. she was doing 54 in a 50 when she got offered the speed awareness.funnily enough on the way to pick up my exige. she seems to think its 10%. chris, she didnt think her premium went up, or if it did, it was very minimal.
chrislane Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Well the ret of us will have to wait and see i suppose. I'm sure i was doing no more than 55, but may well be proved wrong
Jumpjet Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Andy, Notts Police operate these guidlines so I expect Derbyshire will do the same: Speed limit + 10% to speed limit + 9mph So, in a 30mph limit, anything between 33mph up to 39mph should result in a speed awareness course, so you should be fine. As for Dean, they'll probably throw away the key... Wonder what Mrs B was doing that particular morning?
Martin R Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 3 points never made any difference to my insurance quotes. They almost expect you to have that. Bad luck Dean, i think the guidelines for you are 4 - 6 points and a stiffish fine. However you may be lucky and they may offer you 3 points and a fine. If they do snatch their hands off
Alex B Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Didn't think they were that high, I thought it was just 3points n a fine.
