I noticed today that some of the S1's had mudflaps for the rear wheels. Was this STD on the 135 and the 111s? Anyhow I think they'd help stop stone chips up the rear of the clam. Does anyone know where to get some from, EliseParts don't do them (Or I can't find them) Or am I just wasting my time? Not sure how they fit, but it means I might have to drill the clam to screw them in? Dan PS - Just about to order a gasket kit for my CRP from Eliseparts and that gear linkage kit looks appealing.

Hello Has anyone removed the original S1 exhaust and cat themselves? I'm just embarking on this-so far I've removed the undertray, seen lots of rusty nuts, said 'oh dear' and sprayed with copious amounts of WD40. The nuts on the 'engine' end of the cat are all moving but the ones on t'other end look like they might be more of a challenge. My question is - can the silencer and cat be removed together (i.e. without unbolting the cat from the silencer)? This would make life easier because I could attack the rusty nuts on the bench rather than under the car. Any other pearls of wisdom on exhaust removal (other than stop pi55ing about and get someone else …

When on full lock (either direction) and at low speed, the car seems to judder when moving slowly. Nothing seems loose under the wheel arches (had all wheels off for cleaning), and steering seems pretty spot on when driving. I've checked that the wheel nuts are tight.... Car has nitrons, rose-jointed anti-roll bar fixings and A038 tyres. Could it be symtomatic of this set up ? Chris

Just took my car to a local peugeot dealer for a very overdue mot. It's passed everything except a track rod end. They're going to phone up the nearest dealer (Storm in Leicester) to get a price on one and then get it fitted. The free retest for the MOT is only till tomorrow end of day, so I might just get them to do the repair. Firstly, is it safe to let them do it? And secondly, do you know what i should expect to pay price wise for the part and labour? Thanks, Dan

short and sweet, can't decide between orange with black alloys or yellow with black alloys, or black with black alloys.... anyway, my questions are: 1) Whats the service interval on an s2 exige, is it a similar A,B,C format like on the K series cars ? 2) tyres - how many miles ? 3) Wet weather handling ? entertaining or downright scary ? Thats all for now..... Johnny M

My first post! Whilst polishing my Elise on Sunday I noticed a few hairline cracks in the gelcoat, 4 or 5 of them running parallel with each other from the headlamp cowl down the side of the wing about 100mm long. They are difficult to see, problem is though I now know they're there and it's bugging me! Does anybody have any experience of getting gel coat cracks repaired? If anybody has I would be keen to know any reccomended repairers and ideas on cost, any information greatly received.

Hmm, I've managed to lose the keys and immobilser tag. ALl of them, both sets! The immobiliser tag was a square one rather than on the key (meta) or on a teardrop style unit (cobra). Do all 2002 S2's come with an immobilser or could it be an aftermarket unit? Given all of the above, I'm a bit stuck on what to do next - any advice? Rob

Was washing the car earlier and noticed that a small chip in the powder coating on one of the rear alloys. Looking at it, you can see the metal of the wheel, but the metal does not seem to be damaged - so just the black coating. Any ideas if / how I can repair ? Is it as simple as getting some paint and building up the layers to fill the chip ? Cheers Steven

I seem to have bent one of the Roof Bows (the two lateral struts that "touch cloth" and support the soft top). Hadn't notice it before but now it looks as though the passenger in the car is 7 ft tall !!!! I'll try and post some pics in the near future to give you all a chuckle. Whilst I can still use the roof bow that is bent, my vanity is demanding I get a replacement. Looked online today but couldn't find the part listed at any of the usual suppliers. Wondered if anybody knew where I could get one. Would prefer not to approach a dealer and was thinking along the lines of salvage yards or damaged Elise's. Alternatively if anybody likes the idea of t…

In a frank carson style "It's the way that I drive em!" First Elise- 2002 135 sport HGF between water jackets and piston chamber. Went back to NW and never saw it again. (6 months and 8000 miles). This Elise 2002 std HGF between oil and water jackets. Lovely oil which looks like yogurt and temp into the 100's within about 2 miles of driving. This time it's out of warranty (actually about 2 1/2 months out but not moved in the last 2 months until yesterday) only done 13500 miles, and the last journey was a steady cruise on the motorway- don't laugh it really was- the day before it was the skidpan day! So what do I do- I think whatever happens I'm going to do the…
