Alloy Scratch

Recommended Posts

Was washing the car earlier and noticed that a small chip in the powder coating on one of the rear alloys.

Looking at it, you can see the metal of the wheel, but the metal does not seem to be damaged - so just the black coating.

Any ideas if / how I can repair ?

Is it as simple as getting some paint and building up the layers to fill the chip ?

Cheers

Steven

With light colours (ie when the base metal is similar to the coating colour), you can just fill with a few layers of nail varnish.

Not sure whether that would work with matt black though.

The few layers of paint should work.

Alternatively, let the brake dust fill in the scratch !

We had a stone chip on one of the spokes on a rear wheel, got the number of the place that enamelled them from (G)Jezza, and they gave me a little pot to touch it up :)
