between the S2 Elise and the VX220 if the VX was supporting a Lotus badge? I really do like the VX but I think badge snobbery would get the best of me. Ive been out in the Turbo which was very quick. So who has driven both? Gareth

This is what I have to put up with in Aberdeen from my local Lotus dealer. Went to enquire about a S1 Elise.....saw 5 S2's ranging from £19K up so asked if had any S1's......With a blank look he said "What do they look like, are those the ones with round lights?" Can you beleive that?? Dealer did not know what the S1 looked like!! Anyway he said no but he could do me a "deal" on a yellow S2. Took me to show it and it looked clean enough but was missing a indicator lense! Great advetisement for Lotus!! Anyway came away being slightly put off Lotus. It has been raining last night and all 5 Elises has small puddles on each sills....this must be a common problem …

Hi All. I am in the process of buying an Elise MK2 Sport 135 and need some advice. I have only driven an Elise 3 times, the first at the motordrive Live event last year, then at Hethel and the third time when I test drove the car I have just bought. Unfortunately I have never driven a MK1 only MK2 111's which I found to be unbelievable - I have been bitten by the bug! I will be using it as my everyday transport - though from reading the articles posted in the past week - I will try to avoid snow and ice! However this is where I need some advice - do people recommend having some proffesional instruction? If so which is the best company to go for? I wou…

Dropped an email ot Owen at Race Speed to check on the status of my exhaust, he tells me end of february which isn't too bad.... Then goes on to tell me he has one that has been returned as the person bought it, fitted it for a day and decided his wife wouldn't like it so returned it... result, me gets it cheaper and on Thursday! Does concern me that someone returned it though...

... it was a breeze, the alledged pain in the ass bolt, came off without problem... Took about 45 mins total and i wasn't expecting it to make much of a difference... but waahey, the first time i started it up, it sounded great and now i've driven it round a bit, its even better! Well chuffed! Highly recommend them, even as a way of making the std car sound better its a cheap and good start! Looking forward to getting the TB, CRP and Sports Zorst in too... should sound even better then! Cheers to the g/f, who with her super small hands was able to reach the vent easily etc...

My bro in law has just phoned me to make a confession....he just broken my Elise Classic accident - coming off an island, put a bit of power on, back end came round probably on some black ice - straight into the armco stuff. Cracked the front clam, smashed the indicator...not sure of any other damage. We're swapping back on Sunday so I'll be able to assess it then, and its going into NW on Wednesday so I can ask there opinion. Arse Pretty much fecked things though, sounds like a new-clam job, so my NCB will take a hit, and thats *fairly* important when your 22 and your cars group 20. On the upside - the front clam was in need of a respray

Hi all, I'm new here and i havn't got my Elise yet but i'll have it soon, it will be around a standard 97 model. I have a question regarding the reliability of the Elise, i will be using it as my daily drive, (even though it won't actually be used daily) but people keep telling me that it is unlikely to stand up to the punishment of being used in that way. Does anyone here use their elise daily, and do they have any problems with reliabily. Also are there any commom problems that occur with the elise, i am aware of a few minor ones such as the window mechanisms and the slightly larger one of the HGF. But are there any other issues i should be aware of? Or are al…

2 inches or so of Snow this morning. I really wanted to take the car out of the garage to take a pic for the Dec calendar! Wasn't really time as I am at work early. Maybe someone else will? The roads were clear though, so no problems! Hope anyone else affected has a clear, safe drive

I’ve had my Elise for about 6 months now and I completely love it. However at the time of purchase I also had in mind getting a 2nd car as a run-around as I do lots of miles and visit lots of construction sites which does my elise no good at all. I was wondering if many of you have 2nd cars, what you’ve got and what the insurance is like on a 2nd car. I know nothing can compare to my elise but I think there are a few cheep cars around which could be fun to throw about.
